I scored a little 1-man tent from Academy Sports and Outdoors to take with me on the bike for like $22.00 or something. Have taken it out a couple of times and never ended up setting it up. Its tiny but it will keep the bugs and rain off of ya. I think that their website is www.academy.com if you don't have a store near you.

I take the small tent and then wrap my sleeping bag and thin sleeping pad together. Other than that I take 2 sources for fire, 2 flashlights w/batteries, extra socks, extra smokes, very basic hand tools, Gerber Multi-tool on my belt, zipties/bungees, Glock 26 pistol and my Cold Steel machete.

Good times.

Hey Nosebleed,
Where do you go camping around here? I'm planning on doing some short trips this spring/summer.

one thing that i didn't see mentioned is a Jet Boil these things rule the gas goes inside the cup for easy storage when not used and it gets a can of soup hot in less then 5 min the cup that you cook in is fairly large and a whole large can of soup fits with plenty of room they are fairly priced and are the best bet for two wheel camping no fire no problem . Just from my experiences with them they are worth every penny .And they dont take up much room in your pack

Friend of mine was riding through a canyon & rounded a curve & there in the middle of the road was a
big diamondback rattler, He swerved, & the snake lurched at the side of His scoot, just missing His
leg & the big Rattler ended up getting the tip of His jaw caught in the open primary belt.
My buddy finished the snake off with His pistol because the snake most likely would have starved to death with His mouth all jacked up. SO yes a snake bite kit is a good idea! & so is a pistol

Hopefully not too many of you guys need it but now have to pack an EpiPen. I found out the hard way last time I took my bike out one last time before tearing it apart that I'm allergic to bees. Fucking sucks, I've been stung 100's of times in the past without incident but this time I reacted. Damn thing went down my leather jacket and between my long sleeve shirt and Biltwell hoodie, when I got home my wife wanted to run somewhere so I pulled my hoodie on over my T shirt and got stung. I didn't have a reaction till the next day but it was enough of one that I now pack epinephrine.

I have a different theory with moto camping, since I'm not hoofing it and got horse power weight is not an issue, but size is. Those coleman twin size blow up mattresses are much heavier than the bed rolls but they are almost half the size and 10x the comfort. Most even come with a smalll pump about the size of 4DD batteries.

Gabe from After Hours Choppers sells a couple different hammocks on his site that I'd bet are pretty comfortable if you can find something to string them up from. Last deployment a couple of the motor T (motor pool) guys had some strung up between the 7 tons (trucks) they said they were the shit. I was stuck with my rubber bitch and they suck, not even half as nice as a thermarest.

Sent while masturbating in the handicap stall.

Well, I'm building my bike and gathering supplies as well for an 8 day, roughly 4,000 mile trip. I bought a JETboil today, here's a link.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...5BMSMSV3M3P91N

got mine at a local camping store. Fixed two cups of coffee in about 2 minutes.
