Anyone have any info on the Royal Enfield?

Came across this on another forum I'm on,and it seems the original builder/owner is trying to locate it's whereabouts..

There are Enfield Indians and there are Indian Enfields..very different critters.

And the purists say that the real Enfields were made in Britiain.

The desirable ones (other than the early v-twins!!) are the G2 of the late 40's

the Big-Head Bullet and Woodsman of the mid 50's and the MKii Interceptor 750 of the mid to late 1960's.
Various Enfields were sold in the USA as Indians in the era 1953 to 1960, some based on the singles and one called a Chief based on the Enfie Constellation twin.

Todays Indian Enfield is built by Eichler group in India and sells about as many units a year as Triumph.
Eichler also makes industrial and agricultural equipment, appropriately enough, if you've heard the old jokes
about H.-D. and Massey Ferguson.

RealClassic.co.uk has mucho info on all of them.
Hitchcocksmotorcycles.com is the world's best supplier of parts for all of them.
