T120 exhaust adaptor

One of the screw in exhaust adaptors just pulled out while I was tearing down the motor. The bike sat for almost 20 years, so there was quite a bit of rust and crap all over the bike. I picked up a new adaptor and after getting the cylinder head back from the machine shop I attempted to install the new adaptor. It doesn't fit!! I even removed the other stock adaptor to see if it will fit in the other side, no luck. The exhaust port is too big for the adaptor. I've double checked the part numbers, everything is right. Not sure how to fix the problem. Is my cylinder head done? or can the threads or opening be fixed? Hopefully I've explained this good enough to understand. This is my first triumph build so I'm learing as I go. Thanks.

Do you mean the over sized exhaust spigot?

Like mentioned, those are called spigots. Sounds like you have the threaded ones, common to strip out. You can buy oversized ones that might work if you have some thread left. Try Google.

Heard of welding spigots into the head as well.

spigots....yea thats what i meant. There is some thread left so I'll check to see if I can find the oversized ones. I guess if nothing else I'll just weld it in.

Thanks guys!

If the threads are gone you can get oversize ones that you press or pound in with a hammer. I think they come in a couple different sizes. What I did on mine.
