Your question sounds so simple we're all baffled.

Your headlight only has 3 Wires. Low Beam, High Beam and a ground. If you "chunk" your original like and put the amber one in, if it doesn't have a High Beam you'll only use two wires.

Are we missing something? (me, I or us?)

I think he wants to gut everything in the headlight bucket.

I swooped this 99 sporty diagram from somewhere. Should help you figure it out.

If your '98 is the same as my '92, this is the schematic I made for mine.

Just cut all the bullshit out and you'll see how easy it is. You literally just splice the same colored wires together. You can use my diagram to just delete what you're not going to use.

I just did some wiring shit in my 98 sporty and I'm pretty sure that yellow is low, white or gray is high and black is ground. I ran it so just high is always on

I messed with my bike a bit more today tore the wiring all back apart and come to find out it was just a bad bulb so all is well its all back together also got a chance to take the belt guard and front fender off finally still have to disconnect the speedometer and tuck the wires away but it's looking good I ordered up a Avon style front tire cuz I'm to poor for a real one and I hate the look of the stock I'll post some pics
