Shovelhead swing arm chop

Finally scored a Harley! Not new to riding or building , but this is my shovelhead! Picked it up for a fair price, runs and drives. Just needed a little tlc. Not fond of the paint job and a few other kinda redneck attributes but o well.

This will be the first bike I've bought that wasnt a complete basket case! Pretty excited and cant wait to start to see the evolution. Plans are to keep the swing arm. Lower the front and stuff a 21" in there. Possibly lower the rear. Not sure if I need new shocks or to just move the shock mount blocks on the swing arm back. Probably going to repaint and use the old tank and rear fender. I'd like to find a way to get 2 up on this with out having it look like a stock Flh. Getting a cateye clock for it. Making a new battery box and running a newer style battery. O ya, gotta fix the oil lines to the heads. Look pretty f'd up.

No Shit! I can get stainless tubing for cheap, but I need to know what ID to use. 1/"4"?
I've also seen these lines ran a few different way and honestly not sure how they go. haha I've seen them come up into the rear cyl and then from the rear box to the front box is just a short line. Or a cleaner y like old stf which looks like the best idea. That way the oil is shared equally. looks real clean too

Or you could start swapping in evo cam, lifters, rockers, and pushrods for a super-clean no-exterior-oil-lines look...

Don't knock these lines. they are special one off. I wish I had thought of them. Are the cases staying red?

The cases are chevy orange! Lol when I get to a piont I'll pull the motor and tranny and blast them back to cast. I need to show you the other side. It has accel yellow wire and red caps. Some hits of chevy orange here and there, inner primary, etc. Looks like the frigin Ronald McDonald chopper.

I can send you that vintage custom one off distressed copper oil line if you can send me one of your line kits and maybe like$100 . I think its only fair since the part is so rare and all

It's called a coozy coupe.....I've been wanting to chop the top , put some tall whitewalls on it, and paint it flat back. haha
Thanks man, waiting on some odds n ends to roll in from the mail to get it wrapped up.

Yep, good eye. They are really nice too. Nice chrome and stout!

On another side note. I did get the foot controls made up. er well, ridable. Not my favorite , but will do til this winter when I can make some mids. Going through the clutch and installing a ramjet. Going to try and re-adjust and make sure the pressure plate is pulling evenly. Last ride it was really grabby with the clutch in and the bike in gear.

I found a set of 2:1 pipes to throw on. Right after my spitfire rolled tips came in (awesome!) Still probably going to cut the drags short and mount those tips just for another option.

It works great! Got mine from old stf, it's easy to instal and works awesome. I tried everything to get the oem to work right. Spent a bunch of money on new 5 finger hub, ramjet, and finally a billet pressure plate( fugley). It it would still pull with the clutch engaged.... Real bad.
So for the money, you bet. Just bite the bullet and don't do what I did.

Call old stf. They like us CC er's.
