As far as buffing the clear, if its rattle can I would give it a good 30 days before applying polish or wax so that it can properly cure, rattle can will "vent" until completely cured, and personally...

Personally, I would wet sand with something like a 1500 grit (very very lite, as rattle can will eat away quickly on edges and corners) then clear, dulling it up will give the clear something to bite...

Great idea do you have any pics? I do like the idea of mounting it outside the bike, you know see all the working parts thing + replacing the battery would be a snap.

Ya know, it just didn't seem right that the exhaust was frame mounted but that's just my naivety to rubber mounts, well my new exhaust doesn't have that problem.
