You can but you need the proper neutral switch for electric start. If you use a pre-electric start neutral switch on electric start bike as shown in diagram you are basically bypassing the neutral...

For electric start the neutral switch has 2 terminals and can be placed in same location as shown in the diagram. One wire to each terminal.

Where does it interrupt the start circuit ? Or is that no longer part of the neutral switch function?
