16x3 wheel in a 39mm sporty front end

Picking up a Hardtail frame for a big twin that has a 39 mm sportster front end on it, the question I have is can I put a heritage Softail 16 x 3 spoke wheel on the 39 mm front end?
Any help would be appreciated as far as what I need for bearings/spacers/axel to make it fit if it’s even possible

It won't work. Both the hub and any tire that would reasonably fit that rim are too wide to fit in those forks. Your solutions are a wide glide, a wide springer of some sort, or aftermarket wide glide trees suited to your 39 mm fork legs. Or, conversely, a narrower wheel.
