I'm looking to make my XS650 into a jockey shift. Anyone got any pics/info on how to make the clutch linkage or cable? I'm using TCbros forwards if its any help.

http://www.pangeaspeed.com/index.html check out Andy's bike in the blog section. Super clean XS, with a very nice foot clutch setup

Looks pretty good, but I could only find one pic, and it only shows the cable going into the case. Anyone got any more? Also has anyone used links instead of a cable? I'm open to most all ideas.

Thought I would Post this here seeing how it's already a post. This whole linkage thing kinda blew my mind when thinking of a way to install a foot clutch on my bike. I had always liked the idea of having a foot clutch and jockey shift but was not sure If I would totally like it. So, I wanted something cheap/basically free for a set up but reversible on my XS. SOOOO, I thought about it for a while and
figured I would start with the shifter. I took the arm and cut it in half. Then welded a hacksaw bar to it
and a bolt to hold a skateboard wheel. Shifter done....
Then the hard part. The clutch, So I thought?
This was simple. I took the clutch off my handle bars and ran the cable around my frame. I took a socket from my wrench kit and welded it to my bolt that held my foot peg on my bike. Then I slipped the clutch mount over this like it were a handle bar. bolted it down and cut my lever off. Just enough to keep two figures on it just in case i did not like this set up. Drilled two holes in it and bolted a piece of steal to it. welded on an arm to the bolted on steel for the foot to push on and Done. Foot clutch and Jockey shift that can be converted back in no time. I will post pics as soon as I can. There is Nothing like throwing your bike into gear with your hand as you haul ass down the road! Super rad!

clutch cables break all the time, make sure you incorporate a catch so if the cable breaks the pedal doesnt drop to the ground and jam.

Check out my build thread, I'm using blacksmithbilly's worm gear mod. It's what you see above but Bill takes the quality one step further.

I know that this thread has been dead for a long time, but I need to go to a linkage setup like this. My clutch cable broke and my lever caught the ground and kicked me sideways. I managed to keep it up, but that's enough. I messaged billy last year when I was building the bike with no answer. Can anyone machine me a modified worm gear?
