Been reading the boards for a while now so I suppose its right to say hello. I'm residing in Iowa. I've been riding for since 2005 when I was in college and I started out on a Honda CM200 Twinstar (yep 194cc of power) that I rode for two seasons before getting a 1996 Yamaha XV250 (jumping way up the power scale). I've hit all the issues that really bugged me about it from when I got it so I am trying to just ride and only keep up with maintenance issues.

The I added a KZ550 to the garage that I hacked over the 09 winter, keep debating the rear end but she has attitude and is fun to ride.

Finally I'm working a run of the mill 1983 XS650.

Yo. I've been reading the threads here for sometime, but just now signed up. Good stuff. I put my info on the travellers assistance thread so if anyone needs anything just hit me up. Funny thing about bikes is the people who ride them often find themselves in a tight spot. Well, I'm here to loosen up that spot whenever I can!

08-25-2010, 7:35 AM
Signed up a few weeks ago thought I'd do an intro now.
I'm from South Jersey and have a 2002 sporty 1200 that I have been lightly modding over the past few years but it doesn't really fit the style of bike on this site.
Just aguired a CB750A I will be tearing into over the winter. Also into BMX and have a few of them too. This site has great bikes and lots of good ideas.

What's up everyone?! My name's TJ, I'm from Miami. I'm into tattoos, guitars, and writing. I'm a 24 year old college student, took the long route haha, and looking to get my first bike. This place is totally inspiring and I'm in awe at how rowdy the rides here are! Mad props to you all, and thanks for the inspiration! About two years ago I built two of my own guitars from scratch, I can post pics if anyone gives a shit, and am now looking to dive into the culture of chopping Harleys. Seeing as how I'm a broke ass student I'll probably be working with a Sporty for the next few years to come. Holla!

08-30-2010, 11:27 AM
Hi, I'm Alex from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Working on my first project, an xs400. Going to finish it this year and then build an xs650 and give the 400 to the wife. Joining to get advice and tech info. Cheers

Hey all,

Just joined the Cult. Used to be a part of this a long time ago but have no idea what my log in was back then. Used to work with Led Sled Customs as well as 138 Cycle Fabrication and as a machinist, CNC programmer, welder and sheet metal fab guy for the Department of Defense at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

Used to have a 76 Ironhead that you see in the pic but am now without a bike but hoping to get one going once I find work.

08-31-2010, 7:01 PM
Been reading Chop Cult for awhile, and since I've had to check out a few pictures, I wound up joining. I've got a Sportie 1200, and I'm currently helping my buddy put together a '72 CL 350.

08-31-2010, 8:04 PM
I get on chop cult about 100 times a day. So I knew I had to join.
I have a 03 honda shadow 750 ace. I got it real cheap from my wifes uncle. It had 708 miles on it and I bought it in 2008. Going to tear it up this winter. All I've done so far is jetted and modified pipes. I work for Missouri Dept of Transportation (MODOT)as a diesel tech, but I work on everything from wood chippers to bull dozers. I live in a small town about an hour from Kansas City Mo.
Ok thats all I got.

09-01-2010, 5:35 AM
What's up everybody? Pretty new to chop cult. Had been planning a build when I re-deploy from Afghanistanimation around an 01 sporty and stumbled upon a 70 Ironhead one day surfing the list of craig and "picked it up" the next day. First thing to go when I get back to the land of the free will be those fatty tanks on that skinny bike. Looking forward to my first hardtail and the love/hate relationship with my kick only Iron.

09-01-2010, 4:24 PM
Hello, I am Matt riding in North West Michigan on a "stock" 1942 Harley XA that my Father and I restored from a basket. I know it is not a "chopper" but at least it is a cool ride. This site is a wonderful inspiration for future projects

09-01-2010, 7:18 PM
Ride and built a 99 Sporty hardtail. Live in NY.

I been around bikes, custom cars and street rods since i was a kid. My father and his friends built cars. At that time there were very few customs or rods around. I guess its been in my blood all of my life. I started building bikes and cars at 16 my first bike was a 1971 Harley Sportster. I did not take me long to make a chopper out of it. The rest is history. Nothing like building a bike or car an driving it for the first time.

Spent some time in the army and had a career as a fire fighter retiring out as a Fire Official at age 50 . Now I teach part time at a local college and building bikes and car on the side..

09-06-2010, 3:34 AM
Hey all..

Just purchased first project bike.. 66 bonnie.. Currently gathering up parts and scouring the net for info..

Hello from Texas. Stuck on the OK/TX border in the land of bolt-on crappy-chrome "customs". My last bike was a 74 XLCH bobber with flat black and red metalflake. Current project is a SR500. I rolled in here from facebook and decided to join the cult. Been riding about 40 years now. Started racing when I was a little tyke, and quick a few years back when I realized I was too old for broken bones and too slow to keep up with the young punks. Happy to find a site where I can BS and check out some bikes other than Brit and HD.

09-09-2010, 1:05 PM

Hello from Finland.

I have been riding and building (for hobby) harleys for 4 years. I had -77 Shovel and now I have Softail -89 that I am going to sell so I can make my Panhead -49 into 50's Bobber (which is a keeper).

09-13-2010, 7:56 PM
just found this site a few days ago, great to see a chopper/bobber site that caters to every style. currently working on a 80' gs750, first one that i have done from the ground up trying to fabricate everything myself, so lots of questions and maybe a couple answers.

09-13-2010, 11:25 PM
Been a long time lurker and finally joined! Great info and impressive bikes here. Picked up an 81 XS650 basket case, so far the frame was hardtailed and stretched 4in by G&L, DNA (questionable) springer front end.

Looking forward to the build. I have so much to learn and feel bad a bit for all the questions I will be asking you all!

New here as well, don't have a bike yet but am trying, found this from a link and have been lurking for a week or so. Looking to get a XS 650 on the cheap probably around the new year and build as I ride. Also wouldn't mind a Triumph but we shall see what cash allows. I will sit back and just soak up as much info as I can hopefully some day I will have something to add.

09-17-2010, 9:31 AM
Hi all

No great things to report from here ,but thought i'd better introduce myself after all the lurking around ( every day infact) ....keep it coming

09-17-2010, 1:43 PM
whats up guys!!

been a member on JJ for a while then was introduced to this forum (way less anal, thank god)... anyways, i've been into sportbikes for all my riding life but was bitten by the harley bug a couple years back, started researching the crap outta these things and have pretty much been obsessed w/ them ever since...

found a project back in march and went through some crazyness w/ it (guy who was suppose to do some welding ended up being a conartist and i almost got it stolen, blahblah), the bike is an S&S pan in a 46 frame... i clicked up w/ an awesome cat named kevin hogan so me and him are gonna be doing the build (him teaching, me learning)... pretty freaking excited to finally getting this project rolling, should come out bitching! i'll probably end up posting a thread w/ pictures of the build but he's got a pretty rad little blog http://kevinhog.blogspot.com/

09-17-2010, 5:25 PM

I already intro'd myself on the American board. I'm in slo mo build process and just trying my hand at a chopper. Came from sport bikes. Have a kid now and I thought it would be challenging to learn about what is under the hood.

My name is Thorsten and I ride Harleys more than 20 years now.
Currently I ride a 67' Early Shovel in a 1948 Wishbone frame.

09-22-2010, 4:48 PM
Hey been around here watching and reading for awhile now. I've been building a '72 sporty for the last 6 months. I was a complete ground up build and complete engine rebuild, the only thing original left in engine are cases and heads and a few pieces here and there. Anything somewhat questionable was replaced. I have a local indy building it for me hes been around awhile and went to school working on these things when they were new.
Anyways Im going to start a build thread but heres a couple pics of what I Started with and where it is now. Been building the thing entirely in my basement including grinding and welding...
Started with this
First direction during build
And the current vision after scoring this K&Q seat locally

Still waiting for engine to be finished so it may change again before thats ready, and by this time of year ive got all winter to change too. Bars are def changing to either mini apes/chumps or possibly rabbit ears. and hopfully a new oil tank.

Anyways long intro hope to see you guys around.

Anyone from the east coast of Canada around here?

09-26-2010, 2:53 PM

New to the Cult? Intros go here. (http://www.chopcult.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96)

09-27-2010, 8:43 PM
Yep I just noticed that two seconds ago...

09-27-2010, 8:46 PM
I did this once in the wrong forum... Oops...

Thought I'd say hey. I another newb with and itch to build a bobber. Looking at all kinds of bikes. Mostly leaning towards whatever I find that is fixable and cheap, but who know's. Gonna do this on a budget. Priority is to find a bike and get it running first. As my budget may not allow for a pristine running bike to start with.

I have a lot of fab skills, I have built drag cars to hot rods to houses... My current toy is and 85'rx7 with a bottle 302. Its fun but I thinking of selling it. Before that I built a 49' International Rat/hot rod. It leans more towards the Hot than the Rat but I digress... Had several other toys that nobody cares about as well...

So here I am... Looking to learn as much as possible from the experienced folks.

10-01-2010, 3:11 AM
Howdy from Indiana. New to the boards here. Been riding a few years and finally got a cheap enough bike in running condition to screw with. Looking to customize it a bit, but don't know what the hell I'm doing. I like riding rust buckets. Nothing too shiny for me.

New guy from Long Beach. Been working on and building bikes for a few years now, just found chop cult. Really liking what I see here

10-04-2010, 12:46 PM
May as well post up in here since I finally got my bike and have been working on it, as well as posting all over the rest of the forum.

I live in Kentucky/West Virginia and just got my first bike, an 89 Sporty. I've blown all my cash on the bike so now I'm just cutting shit off and unbolting unnecessary stuff to hock on eBay or something. Cut the fender, fabricated a vertical license plate (on other side, no big deal), threw on some 4" extension forks for fun, and working on a sissy bar now so I can strap a tent and sleeping bag on it and go for a fall campout ride. Wanna attach the rear fender to the swingarm so it rides the wheel and maybe get some mini-apes (i know, i know). It's gonna look burley.

I have no idea what I'm doing.

Got it for 2k off ebay, same model, colour, reg as my dads first Harley. Had been stood outside someones house for a year, huge tank, apes, saddlebags n tassles. Put a stock tank on,new chain/sprocket, some struts and better bars.
And im not happy with it.
I feel like ive sorta bodged it cheaply n quicklyto ride it, so im gonna take it apart and do it properly over the winter, Hardtail etc blah blah blah youve all heard it a million times.

Hey all, just thought I'd introduce myself here..
I am Chris, I live in South Bend, Indiana and I got my first bike this past spring. At 38 years old, I am a bit of a late starter, but I had life and a young family that held me up for a few years there...
I was raised around bikes and TRUE bikers.. so I guess it really is in my blood.

So here's my first machine...

1975 Yamaha XS650 that I got from an Uncle in all stock condition. It sat in his garage for nearly 10 years. He was gonna build a bobber out of it, but he never got around to it. So I did it.
I cleaned the heavy dust off it, rinsed the tank, filled it with some 93 octane, dropped in a fresh battery and took a chance... it fired up within a few cranks... shot some carb cleaner in the carbs, poured some LUCAS fuel system cleaner in the tank and started riding it up and down the alley for a few days... after I hardtailed the swingarm with a couple chinks of heavy wall square tubing and bent up a seat pan from some flat sheet (over my thigh) and rattle bombed it all flat black. Changed the headlights, front turn signals and replaced the tail light with a LED hitch plug from Harbor Freight... total investment: $300

Already posted a few times so I guess I need to shoot a big hello from Jacksonville, FL. Name is Brent, I've been riding motorcycles for about 3 years, so yes, I consider myself a newb still. But no matter I have a strong passion for two wheels. So strong in fact that I've taken it upon myself to organize a few local events here in Jacksonville and even started up a small "business venture" called Iron Promotions. So if you happen to be in the North Florida area check out this...

......I was treated like garbage on another board, and a buddy said to try it over here. Anyway, I'm 55 and up to my neck with a love for old cars. I have Gasser type shit, sled/Lowrider shit, drag stuff, etc. BUT, I've owned many bikes over the years. From mini bikes to hot rod jap crap, pre unit Triumphs, and many Harleys. I gave up bikes as many of my friends did in the early 90's due to the helmet law in Cali. But, I've now been itching a bit for an old bike again. An older Bonneville, Honda Dream.....or just something interesting. I'm "over" the Harley thing, and everyone around here's got one. So, I recently bought this Honda Benly (Baby Dream?) to see if I'll enjoy riding. If i do, then I'll step it up to a Bonneville...or Hell, I did always want a rigid Panhead with a fat front fender and a skinny 21 under it. So, who knows.

10-07-2010, 2:53 PM
Hello all,

Just signed up today. Don't have any builds under my belt yet but I'm trying to put parts together for a Triumph bobber that I'm gunna build in my garage during this long Wisconsin winter soon to come.

So right off that bat, anyone know of a good website or a place in or around Milwaukee where I could look to get a used engine for less than an arm and a leg?

10-08-2010, 1:17 PM

10-09-2010, 6:59 AM
Yup, the Gremlin from Winnipeg, Canada, did just discover Chop Cult. Ya'll better lock up the women and hide the sheep!! (That *never* gets old.)

I'm not a skilled builder but certainly do like drooling over custom/home built chops.
Soooo ... I'm just gonna lurk for a bit check the place out and then jump in.

10-09-2010, 12:51 PM
Name is Fritz (not the magazine legend). Heard about this place from another board, thought I'd check it out, and decided to join. Like what I see here. Not much on posting a lot of stuff, and don't spend much time on the computer after work. I do like to build my own stuff. Been riding Harley's for over 30 years, but do like all bikes. Current bikes are 49 Pan (25 yrs) 75 Shovel (15 yrs) 72 Shovel (9yrs) and a 00 RK. Rk is for road trips with the OL (we're old). The rest are chopped or custom. 49 & 75 are in the build process. Pic of my 72

10-09-2010, 5:06 PM
New here, not sure if this is how it's done. Not much of a computer geek. Was lookin for a cool site (Not like some of the know it alls that don't even have a bike). I build regular old simple ready to ride scoots. So, hello all

10-09-2010, 5:06 PM
wow that photo turned out nice

10-10-2010, 7:46 AM
Hello all, I just signed up last night, Just got tired of all the BS on the JJ had to find some fresh shit.
I am 33 married with two kids one boy and one girl. I am a Union Iron Worker and live in Dallas Tx.
I have the chopper bug and some nights I can't sleep because of it. This is my first chopper build, I have restored and customized classic cars ever since I could turn a wrench. Anyway I used to live by the saying fast cars and faster women but since I got married I've had to change it to fast cars and faster bikes. I am truly a purest, a purest of 70's style chops. anyway I guess that is enough for now. :cheersmate:

10-11-2010, 9:08 AM
kllrjo here from sunny tampa fla. like everybody else, i looked at all the other chop sites and decided on this one for the lack of "know-it-alls" and childish "you cant sit at our lunchroom table" BS!
i`m a 52 yr old greybeard who builds custom,70`s style TRIUMPH choppers....dont know it ALL, but when it comes to TRIUMPHS, i do know most of it!. here`s a sample:

got 4 or 5 more that i`ll load latr!

10-11-2010, 6:39 PM
I live in eastern NC. I have a '76 shovel that I am constantly replacing something on. Im in the market for another bike im just not sure what I want.

10-12-2010, 10:25 AM
yeah a buddy was at the house yesterday and told me about Chop Cult so here I am. I am still riding my first bike and its tough to really get into it cause I can't stand not riding. So I got an 01 sporty that I just hit 60,000 miles on, that I've put new bars, side mount tail light brake light from fab Kev, new pipes, white walls, new spray paint, a couple of other random things I made from shit lying around the garage. My wife wont let me spend money on parts so I was limited to taking crap off to chnge it up. I did just get a springer that will go on this winter and I am gonna re spray paint it too. I'll get some pics up later tonight.

10-12-2010, 12:49 PM
Checkin in from Des Moines, Iowa.
My love for two wheels has turned in to a burning obsession over which I have lost a lot of sleep. Although I have been riding for about 15 years, I am currently working on my first project bike. It's a 1980 xs850 triple that I pulled out of a barn last year. I had big plans for the build, but a lack of time, money and tools is progressively making my dreams a little more modest. At least for this build anyway.
I stumbled upon ChopCult while checking out builds. There are some beauties on here, so I thought I'd stick around. Nice to see a lot of familiar screen names from other forums.

10-12-2010, 7:42 PM
been lrkin for a bit. Cool site.like it better than JJ. Building a rigid, gsxr front end, wheels. Evo, 5 spd in a 4 spd frame. I'll post some pics when I have them organized. Its a roller now.

Hey, Brandon here, love the site and really glad I found it. Got a 2010 sporty 1200 48. Bought it last week and put 800 miles on it in 4 days. Trying to get some riding in before chop season starts, I mean winter :). In Atlanta... Ummmm ok that's it for now, good to be here!

10-16-2010, 4:08 PM
Hey guys I'm new to the site but not new to riding. I grew up riding dirt bikes and had a cbr in the past and got tired of riding in the fetal position so I switched to cruisers. Working on my first project right now and I hope to get enough done to post some pics over the winter.

10-17-2010, 12:08 PM

and made it look like this:
Now I'm going to take this:
and make it look better. I've been lurking here and using the search, learning how these British things work.

10-22-2010, 10:53 AM
whats up all, my name is Mike I am from SLC, Utah. been lurking on here for a while dreaming of owning a bike and now that I picked up a 1978 Suzuki GS1000 I thought I would sign up, who doesnt need another site to waste time while at work right? So yeah I have a GS that was alreay hardtailed and all, but I hope to make my twist on it soon. So hopefully I can figure out how to upload a photo - Oh also to the guy who posted above me what kind of tank is that on your GS??

10-22-2010, 2:49 PM
Hey everyone. Ive been trolling here for a while now, and figured id finally start trying to contribute to the forum... not that I have a whole lot to offer.

I've been into cars and bikes for a long time, but never really had anyone to teach me (or any $) to learn how to make what I want, so I've just been riding, having fun, and learning to wrench on shit as I go... slowly but surely... mostly just keeping my bike running and fixing all the shit that goes wrong with it (1980 xs850.) I've learned a ton from this site & have been endlessly entertained and inspired by all the great bikes I see here, sooooooo, thats about it.

10-23-2010, 7:51 AM
Another new guy here. I was referred over here by ibuiltmine.

I'm trying to find a hardtail project for this winter, and if all goes well I may pick one up this weekend...

This was my project last winter, and my first build:

Here's my other 2 bikes:

I'd been using the Sportster as my DD, but since getting my ZRX it hasn't been getting many miles. So I've been toying with selling it.

10-23-2010, 5:33 PM
Hey guys,

Just signed up so am the newbe of the day! I ride a couple of Triumphs. My daily rider is a 2008 Triumph Rocket 3 Touring and my fun bike and never ending project is a 1970 Triumph chopper. I also have a couple of dirtbikes I occasionally ride (250cc and 450cc Husqvarna's).

Hi. My spooning buddy peer-pressured me into joining the site. I bring nothing to the table.

11-13-2010, 9:38 PM
Name's Bill, and I am looking to find some people on here that are local-ish to point me in the right directions with my 78 Honda Bobber. I have been riding for about two years now, and I finally have a bike that is worth fixing up a little. I don't know much about working on bikes, but I am an Auto Mechanic and a Painter. Since I started riding I have not stopped thinking about cutting up boring stock bikes to make something cool.

11-14-2010, 2:16 AM

11-14-2010, 8:44 AM
Just joined, looks like a good site for all of us cutters. I posted pics of some bikes-hope you like. I have a question about Indian script 5.00x16 tires. Anyone using them? How do they handle the elements on the road? I have pretty good luck with the Firestones I typically use. The Indian tire is a little more square though. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, men

11-14-2010, 2:37 PM
Hey Rigid, Im not sure everyone checks the "new to" thread that often, you may want to try posting your question in the main forum for better results. Welcome, nice looking bikes and women...

11-21-2010, 3:00 PM
Hey all,

I've been working on my XS650 build thread over here already:

I've been a Yamaha guy so far, with a 2007 V-Star 1100 as my current solo bike and a 2007 Stratoliner as my touring bike. I felt the need to build something and learn a lot along the way. A lot of inspiration to be found around here, and with the Northern Illinois winter on it's way soon, my build will be my main focus for a few months.

11-22-2010, 10:40 AM
hey guys, new here but been around on a couple other forums. Was referred to this site from a friend of mine. toco. So I thought I'd sign up and check it out. From the cornfields of Indiana.
hopefully I can contribute something worth while, otherwise I'll just keep my mouth shut. LOL

11-22-2010, 3:02 PM
Adam here from NY. I rode a 80 sporty for 15 years until 05 when I hit a deer and broke half my ribs and two vertabrae. Last year I got the itch again, and I found a 96 Vulcan 800 for two grand. I had over two grand in repairs to make the sporty straight again, so I got the vulcan, and was immediately back on the road. I never thought I would be one of those guys, but here I am. and actually, I love the 800. its way quicker that the 1000 cc sportster ever was. I ve been slowly tweeking while staying on the road. West eagle rigid bar, cobra seat, 12" biltwell narrow black apes with hidden wires, lowered front end, lost the front fender. next things are much smaller directionals, and my brother is going to help me weld up some 13/4" drags. the 2" drags are crazy loud.
anyway, here I am, been lurking for a while, and learned quite a bit. its cool to find somewhere where people get the jappers.

11-22-2010, 4:52 PM

11-24-2010, 3:05 PM
what up man! yeah it's good to know like minded folks aren't far away. I ride a 06 1200R Sportster, but I'm chilling off riding for a couple more weeks until I get my license legit again. I'll be back on the road mid december, you know of any rides taking place around that time? I'm amped to get back on my scoot and a ride would be perfect to get back into things and meet some new folks

Located in Omaha. Always working on something.....sometimes slow, sometimes fast. Winters make me nuts, so might as well be building bikes. Looking forward to new ideas and new inspiration, hope I can add something also. I'll add a pic of my current project which is, at the moment, just collecting dust. @#$%ing house projects:rolleyes:

No idea how i've missed this site, but I'm glad I found it. High quality stuff.

I'm in Richmond, VA and have too many projects going on right now. But I love it.

Mostly building bikes for friends and co-workers lately. All my actual bikes are being scavenged to get the others off to their new homes.

Here are a few pics and a link to my moto blog.

Off to explore this site now. Thanks.

Here's the blog from the beginning:

JT from Orlando Florida. Been building bikes for a few years. I'm very partial to Sportsters. But do spend time customizing other brands that tickle my fancy. Currently riding and improving a "96 XLH. I'm also building a 1978 KZ200 midi-bobber to tool around Daytona on.

11-27-2010, 11:57 PM

11-29-2010, 2:03 AM

My name is Christophe. I don't know much the middle between not saying anything and boring blah-blah about myself - in my real french life. Certainly I would be better rebuilding that Moto Guzzi 750S3, which have been standing in my workshop for years but I am addicted to forums, and galleries, and that unaffordable - at us - american iron.

Looks like I will be spending hours on this website - again :cheersmate:

11-29-2010, 10:10 AM
hey guys newbie here dont care to tell much about myself you wanna know just ask names Levi

Yeah, I'm Chris, in New York, I cut hair at Tomcats in Brooklyn.
Some of my favorite things include: Yelling at the television, yelling at my motorcycle, yelling about the traffic outside my door, thinking about being a dolphin.

Looks like my into disappeared; Here it is, My name is Bud, I am looking for a job thanks to the economy, I live in Illinois, I am a Gemini, I like long rides Oops wrong forum.
I have owned Harleys since the 70s I still own my second bike, a 1972 FLH that I bought for $3200 in 1977 though it doesnt look the same as when I bought it. I got out of bikes in the late 80s when it became fashionable, and got into 4X4s. Kept several of my bikes, and young guys would come around and offer me lowball money to take those old bikes out of my garage, and then I would send them packing.
I have always been a back yard car and bike guy, my first bike was a 1972 XLCH with a magneto, my first car a 1966 Mustang convertible.
Here is the running part of my stable for now.. (And all i am willing to show till we know each other better)
My modified Jeep
Me talking to the driver of the Hog Wild team in Mexico at the 2008 Baja 1000 on a VRod powered sidecar rig.

Hello all, I am new on the CHOP CULT signed up a month or two ago but havent been very active. Still trying to figure out how to navigate through the site.
Not a big chop up biker but looking to become one, in this day an age where everyone takes it to the shop, I want to try to keep it back to when a person wrenched on there own. For a man with no experince this will be hard but little by little I will figure it out. Hope you guys can help.

Hey everyone -

Currently riding a 94 Sporty that I've put my own twist on over the last year.
Enjoying the hell out of it!
Been lurking here a while. Great site!! Lot's of cool stuff. Look forward to spending more time here hopefully through my next several bikes :)

12-02-2010, 10:11 AM
Been lurking for a while absorbing info.
Really dig the freshness and innovation on the do it yourself projects.
The pride of the builders show thru also.
Being a terminal tinkerer myself, I think I will hang around.
Been into bikes for a long time and owned a bunch, presently on a 97 WideGlide with a few homemade goodies.
Still own a number of bikes I bought thru the years sitting in various states of disrepair!

Hi, just now learning my manners and introducing myself.. I'm laid off work till after the first of the year and been spending a lot of time on this site. So hello EV1

12-03-2010, 10:59 PM
I figured I should join up instead of just reading everyone else's posts and maybe contribute.
My names Jeff. I'm up in Toronto Canada.

I've been riding for about 29 yrs everything from the first bike a mini trail to Vespas and Lamrettas and a love for RD 400's

I sold this to fund last winters project 81 xj550 Seca I built

Well this started out as last winters project
A 77xs dragged out of my buddies garage for $350

between my change of plans mid build and the wife deciding to get pregnant ;) it is now this winters project.

So this is where I was at Last year this time.

Then I decided that I would rather go with my original ideal of a Misfits tribute called last caress. I wasn't as happy with whole hap jones tc brothers look for me.

and Here's how she sits tight now. I had Jason Parker re-tunnel the tank for me so it sits the way i like for this bike.

Still needs new pipes and the wiring to be done this winter for a spring start up

12-03-2010, 11:40 PM
Nother new guy from Northern WI, been creepin around here for a while, and have become a huge fan of the site. Had my hands stuck in bikes and sleds my whole life, and am currently working at Cycle X, (the cb750 people) cyclexchange.net if anybody cares, anyway, glad to be here!

Thats a lot of crap packed in the back of a PT Cruiser! It turned out bad ass! Its like an ugly old lady's little girl grows up to be dead sexy, when that pt birthed out all those parts and it turned into a cool XS chop.

12-04-2010, 3:08 PM
Thanks man. it's come out nicer than i predicted ;)

I'm the new guy from New York. So much inspiration from all of you on here. Cheers brothers! :cheersmate:

I finally decided to actually start posting after being a member since October 2009. There comes a point in every man's life when they feel the need to stand up and take action. This isn't that time for me. But that should be pretty cool when it happens, so I have that to look forward to. As for cycles (real biker talk) I have an '81 Honda CM400, a '78 Yamaha SR500, and just recently picked up a '91 HD Sportster 1200. The CM400 was the "learning" bike. The SR was the "mild custom chopper bobber flat track no school old school bar hopper" bike. Now the Sporty will take all my talents (that's not much) to make it into a "frisco custom bobber chopper" bike. Maybe I'll start a build thread on that so everyone can follow the action as it happens.

Hey everyone,
Been lurkin' for quite awhile now, thought I'd join the madness.
I'm new to the forum but not new to the scene.
Heres a few pics of my shovelhead I finished earlier this year.
Gotta try and find time for an ironhead project waiting in the wings.

12-08-2010, 12:34 AM
Been followin this spot for awhile, and figured sometimes ya just gotta post a reply to some of the shit ya read.

Anyway, I'm a Milwaukee motorcycle addict that doesn't care for posers and braggarts. I like building and riding and helping my brothers out when needed. Meetin good cats across the country is one of the reasons I ride, and even if the weatherman says its gonna pour like a MFer for three days, it only means I may have to ride in a different direction for awhile. Work and family get in the way all too often, so long trips have been too few and far between lately. Given the chance, I'm gone.

There are lots of sick pics and well written posts here, and I'm looking forward to droppin in and spillin my 2 cents worth on occasion, maybe even drop a few good pictures myself.

Till we meet again, happy trails

12-08-2010, 6:49 AM

Hi, I have been a member here for a few months yet I haven't had too much time to post. Hope I can get more time to browse and enjoy this site. Anyway, I am from north Tennessee. My father got me into motorcycles at a early age. I traded, swaped, and saved for my 1st Shovel at age 13 and still have it. Here is a picture of my Dad on his motorcycle at the beginning of a hill climb sometime during the 60's. Later, David.

Given name is Kenneth. Everybody calls me Kenny. Found this site sometime earlier in the year. Glad I did. I'm having a hard time with the folks over on the Jockey Journal. I drink entirely too much. I ride my bikes entirely too much. Repeat.

I cut my teeth on Triumphs and BSA's. I finally had enough money to buy my first Harley a few years ago. Haven't looked back since, unless I lose a part. Happens one fucking time and you turn into a paranoid idiot after that.

Me and a few friends started a small shop in my garage. We turn out a few parts when we get the spare time. Our line of work doesn't leave much time for that. God love the oil business. We have a dumpster fire of a website that I should have never been left in charge of. It will get better I'm told.

I eat Mexican food like it's going out of style. I smoke a lot and drink a lot on days off. I've never seen a double rainbow. I've been known to drink myself sober on rare occasions. I love riding into Mexico like I'm not going to make it back alive. I ride with a club. Brotherhood of the 74. If anybody is older than 30 and knows their HD history, you'll appreciate the idea of the club. It's been around for over 25 years and I'm greatful for that.

I'm KIRK! I don't take much of anything seriously. I'm 5'9", a Virgo and like to take long walks on the beach.

Here's some of my shit...

My latest car - "The Legion Special". Built by me and my friend Matt Seret (www.seretcustoms.com)

Last bike I finished - "My Little Pony". Featured in DicE #5 (I think it was).

Built this.

My daughter has a sweet 'stache.

I started Billetproof.

I'm in an awesome band that rocks the States and Europe - "Hairy Poppins".

My gang is super tough.

I did this - "May Cause Dangerous". It was on the cover of Rodders Journal.

I do art shit.

I have awesome friends that are super gay, but I'm not.

I'm currently turning this...

...into this - "Mother Fucking Space Olympics". With lots of help from Snake at C-51 Customs (www.c-51customs.com)

I'm a hot rod-related magazine Editor, designer, artist, photographer and asshole. Motorcycles make my penis feel funny.

Fuck yeah it is! Just like back in the day bro! It's leaning to the left which signifies that I'm straight. When they're in the middle you're gay. To the left means you have colon cancer.
