Howdy. The name's Jeffrey. I'm 41. I've been riding for only 4 years and had 6(!) bikes.
Right now I've got a '76 CB750 and an 87 Yamaha Fazer 750 hardtail project that's been abandoned by someone else, and now will be the source of much of my frustration over the winter months and much joy next riding season.

08-03-2009, 6:05 PM
My name is the LiL General you can call me the LiL General. I'm into old cars and bikes. I make custom parts for my friends and sometimes sell them when it suits me. I like to ride and have a good time, I've been apart of alot of things though most don't know me because of that. I know some of you here and am sure a few don't like me, but I don't really care. This is my bike it goes fast.... http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h279/OutLawkiller/Picture005.jpg

my name is matt and i've been riding for since i was about twelve unfortunately its not been till now i've had my own bike, and to top it off i am building it and its not quite there but the process is slow when you have kids you know. my father has been building bikes for longer than i've been alive (28 years) and has been a big inspiration to me on my beezer build, but we live in opposite corners of the country so i'm limited to Q&A rather than hands on help. the cycle is a 64' bsa lightning chop i picked up for $800 and had to de-ugly down to the frame. all that's left to do now it the oil system, electrical and controls, then she'll be ready to be kicked.

08-03-2009, 7:25 PM
Whats up. From Atlanta, GA. pretty new to motorcycles, only have been riding for about 2 years but its fucking rad. 08-04-2009, 6:09 PM
Jessica Warren. 19. Littleton, CO. At the moment I'm lookin for a little Honda Rebel :)

08-04-2009, 6:20 PM
Might have a line on a rebel. Have one on a 75 CB550. Both pretty cheap in SoCal though.

08-04-2009, 6:31 PM
ooh, that'll be a far drive. How cheap we talkin?

08-04-2009, 6:36 PM
400 for the CB550 and I'll get price on the rebel. The rebel is running, needs new choke cable, CB550 needs a little work. has 6000 original miles, second owner. I was going to scoop it up but I already have 2 project bikes in the garage

08-04-2009, 6:45 PM
Alright, I'm really interested in the Rebel, I'm just looking for something I could handle, considering i'm 5', 100lbs. haha. That's a fantastic price for the CB550. Keep me updated on the Rebel.

08-04-2009, 6:52 PM
Thought I already did this, guess not. Anthony been riding since I was a kid, and been on scooters now for ten or so years without a car. Nice thing about SoCal is not too many days that are miserable to ride in. Currently riding a bagger that's gone to rehab and been cleaned up a bit. Have 2 CB750 DOHC projects one nearing completion, and the other untouched for the most part.
On the road to Minnesota this June.

80 CB750 with garage built rigid rear section

All my gear for work strapped on like a fuckin gypsy.

08-04-2009, 7:17 PM
Hey everyone , names Steve but my friends call me StevO. I've been into choppers for a long time ,growing up reading ironhorse was what started it. I ride a Sportster 1200 in a rigid Choppers Unlimited frame. I built a very unsafe ride and laded it down due to rear break fucking up. Gave the bastard to my friend and builder James Mackie. Now I have a sweet, fast, fun , never lost in the parking lot , killer ride.
The tank is the coolest feature, its a porkster tank with a sportster tank welded on top and filling the space above the seat. It's narrow and holds a bit more than 5 gals. I hate filling up all the time!!
I also carve stone and paint as an artist. Latey I've been making shift knob's. People seem to really like them. I dig functional art. Just like my chop.

08-04-2009, 7:47 PM
What's up, Scotty.

08-04-2009, 8:24 PM
It's an auspicious beginning.

or some shit.

Been into bikes since 1970! I currently own an 86 sportster and a 76 Shovel. Co presenter to a new series on Bikes and Rods coming soon to UK TV. Great to be aboard and checking out what's going on.

08-05-2009, 7:18 AM
I'm nate and it's nice to see some sweet quadcams on here. This site is buggy as fuck on my mac, but it seems like a decent place to hang, so I'm gonna tough it out. Currently riding a '93 Sporty w/ a Kansas Kustom hardtail on it. I've also got an '03 in the garage that will most likely go under the knife this winter.

Here's the latest incarnation of my ride.

08-05-2009, 7:40 AM

I'm philbey, from Adelaide, Australia. 26. I like long walks on the beach and candlelit dinners.

I've spent a couple of years sitting in a dark room reading too much Dice magazine and now I'm building myself a bobber XS650 to get some practice before I start slicing up the more hard to find british steel.

I've been meddling with cars for years and as a mechanical engineer I claim to know a lot more than I really do.

Stoked to get in on the ground floor with CC.

I eat, sleep, breath, shit motorcycles of all flavors. Been around them my whole life, I come from two generations deep from both sides of my family of gear heads and motorcycle racers. I run an Indie motorcycle shop in jersey and do this 70 hours a week for the past 10 years while still finding time to obsess over bikes after I clock out for the day. Used to race motocross, roadrace, dragrace, and currently do land speed racing.

I also dabble in hotrods, pelt, baking cookies, and general tom foolery.

08-06-2009, 6:02 AM
Hey guys my name is Don. Been around bikes pretty much since about 3 yrs old. Parents hung around the old central ky chapter of Iron Horsemen until lawdog broke em up back in the 80's. Can't seem to find old pics though. not too many old members left around to check with. Gotta love the ones that are though. Great Stories. I got back into bikes about 5 yrs ago when it got plastered on tv. Quickly got tired of the melting pieces of shit that everyone was building and went back to simple bobbers and old bikes. Couldn't find one around here so I bought a 750 honda ace and cut everthing that wasn't nessacary off. Sold it and bought a 04 softail. fixin to do the same to it to but funds are shorter these days.

Love to do some ridin if any of ya'll are over this way. trying to figure out how to get to the hotrod nationals in louisville this weekend but I forgot how to swim. If i get there I'll try to get some pics.

See ya'll later.

Hey, just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I am stuck at work so no pics right now.

Names Joe, I'm 29, Live in Nebraska, have a pile of bikes (old and new) that are always broken. I break one as soon as another is fixed. I'm a mechanical engineer with the local power company, my dad was a bike and hot rod guy... so here I am.

I have a mutt shovel rigid of my own creation, an evo softy that I built, and my twinkie bagger /ducks

The bagger is my work car and has 103,000 miles on it, it's an `02. So I do ride some.... that is my only excuse to avoid a lynching The others don't have guages, so I can tell you the chubble has had 9 rear tires since I was 15, and the softy has had 4 in 6 years. That is my odometer.

hope to stick around a bit.
so long.

08-06-2009, 8:19 PM

Current Bike: 2007 Suzuki GSX-R 600
Past Bike - 2001 HD Sportster 1200

Sold the sportster back in early 2008 to get the sport bike. Still love my current bike, but I have always been into custom do it yourself bikes. I have been all over craigslist lately looking for a sportster that i can get to work on this off season. Stumbled across this site yesterday and so far it looks like a good place for resources, ideas, and any help I may need.

Hey yall. I see a few familiar names from other boards here. Whaddup fellas? Been into bikes for awhile and before that hot rods. Trying my hand at building one off parts for myself. Got a job that keeps me busy, kinda lucky in that respect nowadays.

I'm kinda stuck on 70's Hondas. Got a couple of cb750's and a CBX chopper that I'm building on as we speak. Got way too many irons in the fire and need to finish a few of these projects.

Here is what I've been riding lately

A glimpse into my world.

08-08-2009, 9:41 AM
I'm in Bay City. Got some riding friends in both Detroit area (east side) and over in G.R. and Muskegon as well as up here by me.

If there gets to be a MI ride or get together, send a p.m.

first off, im jimmy. im 20 years old and have been riding and fixing my own bikes since my first bike (honda xr 50) when i was 6. i graduated from wyotech in daytona a little over a year ago and now im a "qualified" triumph, ducati, and bmw mechanic. by the way i dont recommend anyone go to school there, its not worth the $25,000. but anyway my father and i own a small shop in town (olde iron cycle works) and do alot of work on brit bikes mostly BSA's and triumphs. heres my personal project bike for now. until i realize i hate it and redo it all!

My name is Rob Miller, 40 years old. I live in Wichita, Kansas and seem to be the only one on this forum from Wichita. I live in a place plagued by Big Dogs, Rubs and everything in between. I spent 3 years in a garage building my bike. It's my vision and I like what I ended up with. I know it has more Iron Crosses than whole third reich, but I don't fucking care. You want a turd on your bike then have it, I won't say shit. I appreciate what everyone does with what they have and what the end result is. I may not like your bike, but I'll keep my mouth shut about it. It's your ride and It doesn't sit in my garage. I'm not a fan of OCC but I can appreciate the fabrication they do. With all that said, glad to be a part of Chop Cult! Motherfuckers!!!

Been lurking for a couple days and figured it was time to introduce. I'm George, live in Michigan's U.P. I've been riding and working on old motorcycles since my father lost his foot in the 70s. Out of respect for the old man I never chopped any of his babys. Theres a lot of opinions and attitudes out there and I all of them are different based on each persons experience. I dont share the same attitdue about Asian people as some of you because my mother is Chinese. Dad met her durign the Korean war and married her before he returned to his job in Penn. When the steel business dried up we moved to MI and mom and dad worked at a lumber yard. In high school a friends old man got me a job runnign presses at the local paper. I dont have to tell you what computers did to that industry. I was slow to see the writing on the wall and ended up on the streets for a couple years in 88. I bounced around between jobs and grilfriends for after that but settled down in Sault St Marie when mom passed away. Im not convinced computers and internet is the best thing but i promosed myself I wouldnt get bit by the same dog twice. Ive always been stuck in my ways but theres a lot of thing i want to learn about motorcycles and the internet seems like pretty god wayt o know them. If i see bullshit i call it and I think ive been around long enough to know th difference. If i step on anyones toes sorry........

08-09-2009, 4:02 PM
Greg Plaster here. I own Olddaze M/C Parts in Hayesville, Ohio. I ride an `81 Shovel and a Modern Pan dressed up like a `48. Got a long list of slow moving projects that include. `70 Triumph T100 chop, `73 Shovel Trike, and a `52 K-model.

Hi, my name is Tony. My brother in-law Jason from Orange, VA introduced me to the site. Thanks for having me! I have been riding for about a year or so. I ride a 2004 Sporty, stock except for exhaust and S&S carb. I am about to enter the Navy through OCS. I have big plans for my bike which will commence after OCS graduation. Don't know exactly what I want, all I know is I don't want stock. Hope to be able to glean some good knowledge and share something worthwhile. Look up Jason43. He is my bro-inlaw and knows a bunch about everything, has good taste, and is a good guy in general. Feel free to get in touch with either of us if you are in the Richmond or Orange VA area.

08-09-2009, 6:55 PM
So I am 30 years old live in ky and i built a 1989 sportster last year on a flyrite frame. i got some ideas from here and there but some of them came from bikes on biltwell site and or out of the mags that the bikes were in. I def copped some peoples ideas, such as bars and controls but i made them my own when using them and tweaking them to my specs. anyways i have learned alot from scouring the internet and magazines about building and techniques of what to and not to do. so i am an art teacher and i am into bikes i have a project build going on right now. it is a triumph and i have been riding a sportster and a buell this season. this is my first full season of riding ever.
here is the sportster
here is the buell
This is my project
it is a new model truimph speedmaster.
so i am gonna build the frame with my pops and then build this bike almost like i would a sportster project .. mainly using whatever i want but it is gonna be some sporty parts.. i am putting together a 39 mm front end shaved lowers and a 23 inch rim. spoolie.. that i got from warren jr.

Kevin in Parker, CO. Currently I have a 66' that is in a bunch of pieces on the garage floor. Those pieces will soon start morphing back into something that resembles a 'sickle. I also have a 51'.

Greetings my fellow chopper freaks. Site sounded interesting so I thought I drop in and have a look around.

My name is Nick and I live in San Diego. Mostly do general metal fabrication for a living. I'm a huge fan of most anything on two wheels with a motor.

Not much of a custom / chopper 'scene' up here in Saskatchewan, but it appears I can get my fix here! My name is Geoff - heavy equipment operator - home built scoot. Big fan of Biltwell Inc.

I'm Johan. I'm from Indonesia. I love motorcycles.

This is my work in progress (in my friend's shop). It's taken too much time and money, but that's what you get for being in chopper-no-man's-land. It's under going a lot of changes still, new tank, new seat, new bars, and if the stars align, old Pan.

Hey !

Pierre, 23, mechanical engineer living in France. No bike yet, don't even have the licence but it won't last for long.

I'm interested in mechanics any kind of cool custom or old school stuff, 4 or 2-wheeled. I think my next (and first) bike will be some 70's european cafe racer (eg Ducati or Norton), cuz' Harleys are frikking expensive here and many HD riders in France have pretty bad taste IMO (and i'm not skilled and "tooled" enough to build a bike from scratch).

But anyway it seems like there's a lot of talented people here so i might learn and see some interesting stuff...

Edit : Yeah, i REALLY need to upload a pic... I'll fix that up soon.

I don't recall if I properly introduced myself. So,, Hello! I simply cut, grind, weld, engrave, fabricate, and all!! Livin the dream! I surround myself with folks that have something to offer, anything less is worthless. What are offerings? Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Creativity, Genuine Friendship, Craftsmanship, Anchor Chain mentality (tough, resiliant, old, and rusty), and the bartering type!

My name is Craig, Tyler's email gimmick that I subscribe to lured me here. I'm the graphical greasemonkey @ MAP Cycle and as such, I never have time to work on what's left of my '52 Trump project. One of these days I'll get around to working on it or getting a full frontal lobotomy. Anyway, I have access to a living encyclopedia Brittanica, so if there is anything British you need answered and I can't answer it, all I have to do is shout in Marino's direction.

My name is J-ROD and I own and run Hard Luck Designs Custom Leather. My ride of choice is Sporty. I've attached some pics and randomness to help introduce myself. ENJOY...

Hello Choppa freaks and misfits...... my name is Dewey Greear and I am a sexaholic...... er.... sorry.... wrong forum. Actually I am a motorcycle fanatic starting in the 1960's with my Schwin bicycle and a friction driven motor. From there, mini bikes, small motorcycles, and then..... when I was 19..... a 350 HONDA !!! Since then I have owned a shitload of bikes, some nice and some nasty. I like Beemers best (damn beemer fags) and everything else next. My favorite bikes are bobbers (we used to call them "drag style") and cafe racers. I built a custom ironhead sporty last year and a couple of cafe bikes. Right now I am in the middle of building a hot rod evo sporty and a Triumph bobber. Everybody feel free to jump my shit and I will do the same..... sounds fair to me. Hope I don't get kicked off another website...... Here are some pics, if I can get the damn things to upload. Happy choppin' and don't burn your fingers with that torch...... Dew.

08-17-2009, 6:11 PM
I had bikes (Suzuki shop owner lived down the road) before I had a bicycle back in the mid 70s. This led to all things motorcycle.
The shop owner was a Factory BSA road racer back in his racing days and introduced me to British bikes and Whitworth tools.
Tried some Flat tracking and moved on to Roadracing.
Always liked the simple design of the Cafe racers.
I have lots of old pics that I'm gonna try and get scanned so I can post them.
Bikes and Hot rods go hand in hand for me so I hope I can add something to the board.
Current bikes..............
1971 Norton Commando,
1977 Harley Davidson Sportster,
1972 Yamaha XS650 Chopper
1999 Kawasaki ZX6R (Roadrace bike)
1995 Kawasaki ZX6R (Roadrace bike)
1988 Honda NT650 (Roadrace bike)
1990 FZR400 (Roadrace bike)

Thanks, John

I like the jockey shift on the right. I thought about doing that, running it thru the swing arm pivot bolt hole now that I welded on a hard tail. One thing I miss about the right side shift ironheads. You could just put the hand shifter there; no brainer. Lookin' good, Big John. Can't wait to see the final work!

hello, my name's shane. I've had dirtbikes as a kid, but never really gave a shit about turning wrenches as i was too busy skateboarding and collecting records. It seems that most of the bikers in my town ride either stock harleys or $50,000 custom bikes that look like a tribal tattoo.
that's cool , just never appealed to me. any way 2 yrs ago I got a triumph 1976 t140. soon realized i better learn some stuff quick. did a bunch of little things eased my way in yknow?
then,I got a bsa a50 motor that im almost done rebuilding. now im working on a 70 firebird bsa bobber. I bought it as a non running, finger tightened roller. Have a great head start, but enough work ahead of me that I can call it my own. sorta. anyway, punk rock, rockabilly, skating, tattoos blah, blah. this sites cool. stoked on learning something new every day, Im 33. later.
