Name is Cory 32 from the Midwest. Im a Welder by trade chopper bobber enthusaist. Im glad I found the Cult. I am starting late 80's Yamaha virago bobber project soon. Simple because the engine is bran new in it and my friend is giving it to me for supper cheap. But in the future I look forward to taking on more traditional projects like a Honda cb 650 the yamaha xs and of course my dream any old shovel or knuckle head. I will be surfing the site to find anyone in my area to share rides and exp with. But also i intend to build a few jigs and frames and offer them here cheap for the experience and as a hobbie not for the money. So check my or message me if your anywhere near Missouri.

Hi, folks. I'm Brad. I'm a very active member at two other motorcycle forums, www.svrider.com and www.shovelhead.us/forum. I have a build thread on both sites for a bike I've been working on and off again on for several years and was recommended by a guy at the SV site to come over and check you guys out. I'll start a build thread to show you guys what I've done so far.

About time I ponied up, I've been lurking and reading for a while now. My name's Chris, I'm from a little town in Eastern Ontario, Canada. Just picked up an '02 883 Sporty and hoping to tackle it over the winter. Have some mechanical ability but it'll be the first bike I've worked on. Looking forward to see what else everyone has to offer and ask a lot of questions.

Cheers!

Hey guys, been reading up for awhile and thought it was time to introduce myself. My name is Quincey from Portland area of Oregon and I'm 23. I've been building jeeps and hot rods all my life and have tackled my first bike, It's a 81 XS650 and I've taken some pretty good advise away from some people here, very nice to have so many knowledgable people who are doing the same shit as me. Well that's my 2 cents...

Hey dudes names Jesse bought my first bike on a impulse two years ago and havent looked back since. Pretty limited with options with finances and what things are worth in canada compared to the states. But Heres a picture of my first project before and after CB400TII 78'.

I recently sold it for quite a bit more then I payed for it only because I needed something bigger and keeping both wasnt in my budget at this time. So heres a picture of my most recent project an 1998 XL with 12000 kit in it. I have a lot to learn about these bikes as everything I dabbled in before was on metric bikes.

Aloha

I live in a cave on a rock in the middle of the Pacific, 2500 miles from anywhere. I dig all things mechanical.

I ride an old chop that I returned to it's original from with some slight mods. The newest parts being one of those new fangled cone shovelheads and it has a modern king sporty tank, cause the original one was shot. I won't mention the controls as they are take offs and modified from a new custom POS, but they work for this bike.

Anyway, I'm unemployed and a complete idiot and I like to stir the pot.

Thanks for having me.

Hi I'm Tony from SoCal. I used to have a 96 fxdl but after a head on collision with a drunk driver i lost the bike and my leg in the process. After 8 long months I got myself a 2006 fxdb in May and just picked up a 78 ironhead that's just begging to be chopped.

Guess I should introduce myself. Licensed Florida Master Electrician, college professor, audiophile, during my off time, off the bike that is. Returned to riding at the age of 50 after being off for 35yrs, it was my wife's idea. Funny story how this happened and will relay it later in a different thread. My bike is a 1999 Honda Shadow VT1100C2 A.C.E. customized to allow different looks depending on the weather (rainy season in S. Fl.) or my mood. Here are a few pics, hope you like it.

New to the cult!
Not only am i glad to introduce myself but I also want to take this opportunity to ask a question. First things first though. Names Stephen Im in 757/804 Virginia (Hampton local). Im riding a brand spanking new 48 that bought in Germany. A little back story before the question. Ive been on or around two wheels my whole life, from racing BMX to casual dirt bikes. Ive been in the army for 8 years and was finically able to buy my first Harley. It took a while do to all the moves that come with being in the military. Well Im out of the service in 9 months and have zero friends! Not for lack of trying. Im not socially awkward, I introduce myself to anyone on a motorcycle, regardless the style. However being in the service makes it hard because people click up and are usually just into stock crotch rockets. So i often ride by myself or with my old man. So the heres the question(s). Where, when and how can i meet a crew who wants to ride motorcycles, do some burn outs, and drink some beers?
P.S. ive already hit up the Brolodex with no success:cheersmate:

Been around bikes for the bulk of my life and have a nice looking multicultural stable.

Hey guys, I read a lot in the forums but haven't really posted. My daily driver is a 1988 883 that's mostly stock for now, save for a couple small mods. I can't bear to cut into the short riding season with excessive wrenching. I'm in NH, so I only get a few precious months!

Greetings all!

My name is Pat (fnnewguy).

I'm a Chicago kid turned Florida Cracker by way of the good ol' U.S. Navy. I will be returning "home" to the Sunshine state here in a few more months, after a 5 year stint in the good old Navy. I'll be in the Gainesville area upon my discharge in March.

I got into motorcycles young, as my grandfather and my father both rode a whole helluva lot. Finally got my first one at 17, a Suzuki Marauder 800 on the cheap from my old man, and got to tearing it apart pretty quick. Wrecked it that same year, and was off two wheels until I could afford it to buy a new-to-me-bike after I'd joined the Service.

While stationed in Norfolk, Va. I've been almost a go-to for people selling basket cases and broken bikes (and VW bugs), and I've had at least 4 bikes (or combinations of parts that could have been a motorsickle in another life, or better hands) in the last 2-3 years. The shitty thing is, I've never gotten a scoot project completely finished. Not one. :banghead:

Once I get settled in in Florida, I'd be happy to meet anybody in the area who doesn't mind having a kid with a million questions and a bottomless gullet around. :) I tend to bring beer anywhere I go, nowadays. :cheersmate:

Ride safe!

Hi! I just joined and started riding motorcycle this summer. I have been riding bicycles for seriously for over a decade and decided to get a motorcycle for "lazy" days and scouting routes.

My first motorcycle was a 1994 Honda Magna VF750C. I really loved that bike, but unfortunately it was destroyed by a truck one day.

I replaced it with a 2006 Yamaha V Star 650 Silverado. It has a lot less horse power, but it's still a nice ride. Looking forward to getting my wife on it before too long as my confidence increases.

<a href="http://s7.photobucket.com/user/Frozenspokes/media/IMG_20130605_204930_2261_zps4b98606f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y253/Frozenspokes/IMG_20130605_204930_2261_zps4b98606f.jpg" border="0" alt="Great motorcycle photo IMG_20130605_204930_2261_zps4b98606f.jpg"/></a>

Besides the bike, been working on a 62 Thunderbird, and spend any other free drinking cheap beer and making time to BBQ. Also, finally going back to school for Onsite Power Generation (no more wrenching on trucks/cars or construction anymore with the messed up back).

Cheers folks!:cheersmate:

What's up all. Been creepin around the site for quite awhile and finally Decided to sign up. I am currently working on a 79 ironhead custom bobber build. I bought a frame with stock xlh front end, most of the engine, and 5 five gallon buckets full of parts, rust, and various other goodies for 600 from a friends father who is also letting me use his shop and old guy knowledge, so the six hundy really was a steal. Inbetween work and helping him restore his 1937 indian scout jr and 1932 harley, occasionally I get to work on my scoot. Hopefully it will be ready by next season because I spent thiswhole year without a running bike . Ill post pics as soon as I have time but till then have fun and build it-don't buy it.

Looking through the posts and see a lot of cool stuff.
I own a 2003 XL1200S, had her since new. Bought her back in Yokosuka Japan when I was in the Navy. Retired from said canoe club in 2007 and reside in League City Tx.
I see a lot of DIY stuff and makin' shit work when others say it can't be done. Thats how I grew up, usin' junkyard parts to make my ride faster, keepin' it goin etc. I see a lot of that here. I am also on the XLforum(same tag) However it seems most there don't seem to have the knowledege or reluctant to reveal their tricks/knowledge. (It is a great forum and there are many great people there. This is no means to present the XLF in a negative light.) :) OOPS! I already introduced myself, damn senility strikes again!!!!

Hello,

My name is Joe, new to the forum and about to start my first build. I currently ride a Triumph Thruxton which I've done a few mods to but I'm ready to try my hand at doing something truly custom. I've got a bud helping me out but I'm sure I will be bugging you guys a lot over the coming months as I get deeper in to this.

I've got a guy who is looking for an Ironhead engine for me and he also has a 2 under DNA springer and a rolling chassis with title that I aim to pick up. Will probably only use the engine and keep the frame for the title then sell the rest for parts to fund the rest of the gear.

My goal is to put dual 21" wheels with a stretched out(probably 4 out) hard tail and some low slung board tracker bars or clip ons.

One question I have for anyone who runs dual 21" wheels is what kind of frame you have? Was thinking of possibly buying a hard tail conversion kit but not sure it will be long enough. I think a 2 under springer may not be enough to get the bike low enough to the ground either, might need a 4 under.

Was thinking of hitting up Buchannans for the wheels, but not sure yet.

Anyways, that's it for now, I'll start a build thread once I get the donor which will hopefully be in the next few days/weeks.

Looking forward to learning from you all!

-Joe

I am proud to say I know sweet-fuck-all about motorbikes, only been riding for a year, but I'm keen to get an old bike, dead or alive, and poke around with it. Really interested in trying my hand at making a bobber (eventually), just a little scared at the massive amount I'm gonna need to learn.

First on the list will be welding, looking into an intro MIG & TIG welding course at CIT here (for Aussies: TAFE; for foreigners: ...trade school?). Starts on 2nd of November, goes 4 hours for 4 Saturdays.

Finally a forum for me! I love old skool bikes, choppers, bobbers, and especially Rats. Most call me "Rock" so much so that I don't answer to my given name unless you yell it a few times. Much like my wife does when I have a day off work. I live in East/Central Wisconsin and have two bikes right now. A 2001 Harley 1200 custom sportster. I say custom because when I bought it I tore it apart and rebuilt it to fit my personality and riding style. (Who the hell thought a windshield was a great look for a bike?) "Black Betty", as I've come to call her, has two images of Betty Paige on her tank. One is an Angel and the other a Devil. Both are fighting over the Harley bar and shield near my crotch. I love the look, the wife hates it. So much the better.

My other bike is a 78 KZ650 that has been ratted out for my pleasure. This is "Ugly Betty", WWII bomber type artwork painted on the sides of the tank of Betty Paige. As of right now she has a cast iron tractor seat, fenders made from a 55gallon drum, foot pegs made out of rail road spikes, fender struts made from old wrenches, 7.62mm ammo can saddle bags, and many other parts that don't belong on a bike. I still have to rewire this bike, but when I do get her back on the road, I'm going to ride the shit out of her.

The other project in my garage right now is my 3rd oldest son's, I have 5 kids, KZ400 that he just bought last week. I've come to call this bike "Lil" short for "Little Bitch!" because I can see how much trouble she is going to get him into already. What can I say he takes after the Old Man.

Well hope to meet up with some of my fellow "Chopoholics" in the near future. :cheersmate:

Hello from Texas...."Please allow me to introduce myself"......I regularly visit many MC related forums but I find CC to be by far the most useful so I recently joined.....Been riding since I was a "wee little laddie" (caught the MC bug at the age of five aboard a Briggs & Stratton mini-bike).....I am a decent wrench and have always maintained and modified my bikes myself. However, I can see from the postings here that I still have a great deal to learn. I am humbled by some of the clever ideas and stellar craftsmanship that I see on display here. I have made good use of these examples during the construction of my softtail bobber. I therefor wish to say thank you to those members posting on CC for your ideas and expertise.......My hopeless obsession with motorcycles is only likely to get worse due to my regular visits to CC.....This site is tits!

Hey. I'm Brent and go by "b2". I've been perusing CC for a while now to get some more inspiration for what will be my first build. I have a 2012 Street Bob and, if all goes as planned, will be picking up a 2000 Sportster this weekend that will turn into my project bike.

I grew up skateboarding and doing tricks on my BMX freestyle bike in the 80s. I now race BMX (yes, bicycles) and snowboard in the raddest place in the US, the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. By profession, I'm an IT dork. I've been riding motorcycles since I was a kid--I even did my paper route on an 1979 XR80.

Hi there everyone,
I traded a shotgun and a .22 for my 1982 KZ 750 CSR twin at the beginning of the summer. Bike would start and go around the block, but that was about it. I stripped it down to the frame and started redoing everything from the ground up. I have about $200 invested in it including the registration and plates. So far, I have bobbed the rear of the frame, came across a set of 10.5" shocks for a bagged or something about that size, and fabbed up the rear fender, fake oil tank/electronic tank and the sissybar. All the leatherwork, the seat, saddlebags and tool pouch I made. I fabbed the forward controls from some random metal scrap around my work. I still need to rejet the carbs, finish the linkage for my shifter, get a new headlight switch and replace my fork seals.
Thanks for looking,
Nathan

I always loved bikes and now I had the chance to try my hand at it. I don't have much....I can't do what I really want but the bike will still be mine in a way. I really underestimated the work that goes into a bike and in turn it has made me more appreciative of what you guys are doing here. Hi All,

Name is James.

I've been bouncing around this forum for a while as a non-member. Loads of great builds going on...very inspiring community here. Finally decided I should join the forum.

I am working on my first build, decided to start small...real small. 1986 Honda Rebel 250.

First day I got it:

Just checking in to say "HOWDY!"
I'm totally new to this scene but I can already tell that I'm catching the bug; thus I signed up versus being a voyeur (Not saying I don't like watching):p
Anyway, I'll be around checking things out and making more posts.

Hey everyone , Tim here from Toledo. Been checking things out occasionally and thought I'd say what's up to everyone. I love old school bikes and I especially love choppers and bobbers. I just got a sporty hard tail bobber on the road this summer and I've loved riding it for every moment since.. Glad to be hanging around the cult!!! Chop on folks!!!

Hello everyone. I have been lurking for few days now and glad to be here. I am about to embark on the journey of resurrecting the bike from my childhood that my father rode everywhere. I rode with him everywhere he went and sat on a chrome fender. I recently inherited the bike after my fathers passing last February. I will gladly answer questions if you have any but for now here are a few pics of the bike. The first one is of my father on the bike along a corn field somewhere in Eastern Nebraska right after it was built from boxes of parts in 1981. The second one is one of its many rebuilds. And the third is how it is currently and sadly the pic is from his funeral where I made his urn from the front cylinder mounted to a seat pan I cut out so he could take one last ride on it....

Hi all,

I've just joined the forum and thought I'd throw up a thread on my latest VLX. It has since gone to another home as I'm moving from lovely ol' England, to Kentucky.

Plans are to strip apart a VLX completely and rebuild from the ground up as a low and long bobber, and to also strip and build a touring'ish HD, so me and the mrs can take long trips in relative comfort. I have found a LOT of inspiration on this site and only hope I can contribute to the club.

Here is the last VLX when I bought it:

http://s3.postimage.org/f6fneqejn/image.jpg
http://s17.postimage.org/8l63ox8wf/image.jpg

This is how she ended up, with everything being hand made and hand painted, apart from the powder coating:

I also started doing a bit of leather work a couple months ago with the view to build a solo saddle etc. Quick snapshot of the few projects I've completed so far:

Welcome to the Cult.

There is a thread for introductions for new folks in the main forum area; cant remember the name but youll find it if you look, it's pretty obvious. Might want to post up in there and maybe throw out a little more info about yourself, your bike, your interests, what you want to get out of or contribute to the Cult etc.

Also, there's a forum section called "The Brolodex" where you can connect with other riders/members in your area if you're looking for people to ride with, wrench with, drink beer with etc.

Spend a little time looking around and you'll start to get the vibe. Oh, and the Junk Pile is where you can make gay jokes with nitwits, point out that someone famous has died on any given day, or bitch about your choice of politics/religion/social issues/foreign policy/fashion/hair styles/Nazi Socialism or pratcically any other "ism" that there is; just don't expect much intelligent conversation there. Whole lot of people with strong opinions...and weak debating skills, hahaha...

So, jump in.

Hi All. I'm Steve from Delaware. I've got an '82 Honda CM450a, first bike in almost 20 years. Back then I had a 78 CB360 and a Yamaha around the same vintage which I can't remember any details on. The Honda is tagged and running, and I ride it every day. It's a fun little bike. I started hacking it up and making it my own, but I'll probably tear it down over the winter and do things right.

I'm fairly new to bikes but I've been building hot rods for a while now. I've had a string of 50's and 60's rods, but current driver is a 1940 Chevy truck.

I also still skate, so if anyone's up for cruising to FDR, let me know.

Anyway, very cool site!

Greetings all. I posted an introduction in the Maryland thread in the Brolodex, but thought I'd introduce myself to the group as a whole.

My name is Sean - I live in Bowie, MD (south of Baltimore, east of DC). A little about me I suppose - I'm 29, grew up in southwest Ohio, went to college in Nashville, joined the Army at 25. Got out in May, and stayed in the area. I grew up riding dirt bikes and stuff, and just got my first road bike in February 2011 - a 2000 Honda VT1100T Shadow ACE Tourer. I love it and have done a bunch of custom work to it (put a Harley fairing on it, a bunch of blue LEDs, flagpole holder, etc)... and I ride as much as possible - I put almost 10000 miles on last year (but still not as much as I'd like).

I sit in front of a computer all day for work so riding when the weather is nice and tinkering when it's not are basically my favorite things to do - so after spending all of last winter working on my bagger, and with the weather starting to cool off, I have been getting the itch to have another project this winter.

Couple weeks ago, I went and picked myself up a 1981 Yamaha VX750 Virago - I'm looking forward to gettin' down to work on it.

Here's how it sits currently -

I've got some more pics in my profile.

So hello everybody!

Hey guys,

Stumbled across this site while researching building a bobber a few months ago an lurked a while. I'm from Oxford, Alabama. I was an airframe structural technician in the army for 6 years. Repaired and built helicopter parts as it pertains to all the aluminum parts, skin, bulkheads etc. Hoping that experience will transfer well to chopping and bobbing. Working on getting a TIG setup and learning to weld.

A few weeks ago, I ended up trading a VTX1300 basket case for a bike already bobbed. An 84 VT500. Been riding the snot out of it for the last few weeks. Currently looking for another jap v-twin that I can bob/chop myself. But,as I sift through this site, I'm definitely liking the XS650.

Anyhow, good to be here, and look forward to talking at some of you, and learning.

Hi There,

New to the forum, & have dropped in to say Hi!

I live in England, about 20 miles north of London, & have been riding on & off for around 35 years, mostly on brit stuff. Currently using a BMW K100 as a daily ride unless the roads are too icey!!

My fair weather bike is a Royal Enfield Bullet, which I've fitted with a 1953 Royal Enfield 700 Meteor engine. It is very mildly 'adjusted' but still looks fairly standard.

I also have an ongoing project which is a beat up CX500 that I was inspired to have a go at 'customising' having seen what the Wrenchmonkees did to one. I've been keeping a blog on my progress if anyone is interested:

Hi everyone. been here only a couple days so I figured it's about time I do this already. I'll try to keep it short and sweet. this is my first time ever on any forum, not to mention, but I will anyways, tht it's also my first time ever owning a motorcycle. My names Robert. I live on the coast of New Jersey. I've recently bought myself a KZ750 twin belt drive 1983. So with that, here I am. I have tons and TONS of questions as I'm planning on bobbing it out. Any help is tremendously appreciated. I hope to make some new friends and expand my knowledge base about motorcycles as well as to continue to carry on this long time tradition of bobbing and chopping bikes. I love it already and I haven't even cut anything. Thank you.

Hi. Mark here from Cambridge Ontario Canada. Have done a few builds, some OE, some custom. I do all the metal fabricating myself, engine and mechanical myself. I leave the paint and chrome to the experts.

This year finished my 1980 GS850 Suzuki Street Brat. My day ride is a 2000 Sport S all Screaming Eagle, working on a 1972 CL450 K5, I also have a 1968 Harley Davidson Aermacchi ML125 Rapido,

Sold recently 1300 Yamaha, CM450 Honda, I restored and recently sold a 1972 CB350 K4 which won Best Asian Bike at the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Show, sold 1978 KX650,

Hi I'm Shawn from ohio. Just got my first bike on the road this summer. 2000 sportster that I bought as a wreck with a salvage title. Not a whole lot of experience or knowledge here just a shop manual and great forums like this one. Done most of the cheap easy mods I've seen on here so far....on a budget so it is still a long way from the chopper I want it to be but I will get there eventually.

Hi,

I have to say this is one of the best sites I have found regarding old school bikes and I am happy to add it doesnt matter what you ride. If its on 2 wheels it is OK here and thats the way it should be!

My name is John, and I have built up flat track bikes but never a street ride so any help from other members is greatly appreciated. The bike I want to bob/chop is my old 96 FXSTC and I am planning to post photos of each step along the way. Any help I can give to other members I will offer as advice also, happy to have found a site with such a wealth of information and talented people.

Keep the shinny side up!:cheersmate:

Hello from the USVI (Puerto Rico) used to be into crotch rockets andsomething happened that I decided to get rid of it to be more comfortable. Cruisers are the main menu from now on!!!:-) I got an 84 v65 magna that have plans with and my wife has a little rebel 250 that I got for her. Love to customize stuff and these will be the first bikes I do by my self!

Been lurking for a few months. Bought a stock 01 hugger a month ago and have been chopping away at it. New pipes and bars. Bobbed back fender with new lights. Removed front fender. Relocated ignition. Fabricated and relocated coil. Lifted tank. Modified to fit a new air cleaner and made a new clear cover for it. Rattle can flat black but left the original yellow as a stripe. Waiting on new plug wires to see if it will fire up :/
This is my first attempt at customizing a bike. Too timid to do it with my past bikes. Excited to have jumped right in this time.

Hey everyone,

I've been creeping on this forum for a while now, finally deciding to sign up. I live in Northern Virginia, Fredericksburg to be exact. Right now I ride a street bob, but I really like what a lot of you guys are doing on this site. Now that winter is upon us, if there is anyone in the area undertaking a project, I'd really like to help out. Even if that only means being an extra pair of hands to hold something up before you bolt it on.

I'm really interested in getting into the fabrication side of things. I've always been a mechanic, helicopter mech in the USMC for 6 years, but I would like to get exposure the other side of the house.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here. I honestly don't know how much I'll contribute, but I'm appreciative to be able to see new things.

FNG here from Michigan. Been on TCU for years. Found this place by accident searching for some info somewhere.

Current build up is my son's first bike. He's 17. Found a handful of scramblers a month or so back. One was a runner, the other two were projects. Sold the runner for about 3x what I had into all 3. Told him if he wanted to fix up one of the others over the winter I'd help and when all was said and done it'd be his.

Here's what he started with:
https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/q71/s720x720/537327_10201841298028149_296389056_n.jpg

Here's his inspiration..

I know it's a trump, and we're working on a Honda CL360 but it's giving him a direction from which to take influence. So far we've blown it apart and blasted/primed the frame. Here's how it sits (well, plus some primer - not shown)

Collecting parts while I'm finishing putting the major heart surgery on my daily.

I realized I hadn't made an introduction post. I've been hanging around this forum on the sidelines for a couple of years and it's time I join in a little. So, a little 'bout me... I'm 53. Been riding for 30 years. My 1st bike and the one I learned ride on was a '72 kick-only FX. Bought as a basket case and built by me. So, I learned a lot about Harleys and learned to ride. It was a fun bike. Fast forward many years and many bikes, today I ride a '12 Ultra Limited, '90 Softail and am currently working on a '58 Pan build. I'll get around to a build thread on the Pan before too long. It's a cookie cutter typical Pan chop. Low budget... Great forum!

Hey folks, another noob here. Name is Dave. I heard about the forum from a friend. I finally managed to get my hands on a '77 Sportster that my old neighbor lady had. She said that it had been in storage since around '91. I have been trying to talk her out of it for about 14 years and finally this summer she called me and said she needed a couple Cub Cadet riding mowers worked on. She said that she would give me the bike as payment for working on them, so after changing the oil and adjusting the valves in one and replacing a tension pulley spring on another, I have my ironhead. It needs a LOT of work and is missing a lot of parts, including a 3"x3" section of aluminum from one of the cases where a tranny gear went through it. I'll get her together eventually. Here is a couple pics of her.

Don't know how I managed to miss you guys all these years. Guess I have to get out of my basement shop occasionally and beat my mouse a bit more energetically!

So - I've been building stuff all my life (boats, houses, bikes, one airplane, hang gliders, you get the idea) just because I like to do it. Been riding - fixing - building bikes since I was 18, over 40 years ago - that doesn't sound very good! But I'm not dead yet, so this winter all 4 of my bikes are falling under my scalpel for one thing or another. Making some changes to the front suspension on the black beast (sig picture) and trying to design and build 4 independent superchargers for its V4 engine. First I will bore it out to 1300cc to get ride of the blow-by (has over 100k miles of wear). If you don't like flat black then you won't like the color scheme for my bikes. I build virtually every part from scratch myself and rattle can paint everything in my cardboard box with exhaust fan spray painting "hood". Roughly 10% of my body weight is actually flat black Krylon residue!

Also rebuilding an old mazda wankel engine which I hope will go into something which doesn't exist yet - gotta first see if anything can be saved on the engine or whether it becomes a shop decoration!

Anyway, I like the Chop Cult attitude and the bikes. Not looking to copy anything but I enjoy seeing what everyone is working on.
All the best from Wisconsin,
zagger

Hey all, newbie from eastern NC. Been riding a v star 650, and finally getting the nerve up to bob it. Will likely have some questions along the way. Lots of great looking builds here!:killerjob:

Morning, everyone! Young gun out in Dodge City, Kansas here. Recently wrapped up restoring my first bike (a 1980 Honda CX500 Custom) and now working on bobbing a 1982 Honda CM250C. Managed to get my hands on the CM250C in exchange for helping a guy move pavers to his house (and digging it out from the pile of shit it was buried underneath in his backyard).

It's basically in pieces across the garage right now, but I'm hoping to set some time aside this winter to make some progress. Needs all new electricals, plus I need to rebuild the transmission. Looking forward to seeing others progress/picking everyone's brains!

Cheers.

Hey people. I hope this is the right spot. New guy here. I'm just an average idiot from Jersey that's trying to learn all her can so I HOPE you guys can bare with me some. I've ridden for a while...never respected my rides like I should have, then couldn't ride for a while and that's when I realized how much I missed it and how ugh I wanted to learn. It's amazing how much can be taken for granted when it comes to you easy. Anyway so I searched and was gonna buy a new bike when I found my 98 super glide with only 12 miles at a good price so I figured that if I wanted to learn the best move was get that bike and make it mine. I LOVE my bike but there are things I wanna change so I'm looking forward to bothering the piss out of people here with what will be dumb questions to them (anyone that says there are no dumb questions doesn't know a lot of dumb people :-) so I look forward to learning all I can. I'm gonna pick up a roller or project bike from Craigslist when I find the rt one also so that will be fun. Even plan on learning to weld (even more fun lol). Anyway thanks for reading my ramble I'm a trainer besides so if anyone has any questions about anything I can help them with feel free to ask. Not looking for business or anything. Just a "people help me so I help them" kinda deal. Thanks again. Steve

I'm retired Army living in NC. I have a stock '72 FL and a rigid, stroked shovel that I'm in the process of making it an ET bike for the summer. Putting a 5" slick, electric shifter and a shift lite on it. I ran 11.98 last year in the 1/4 and think I can get 11.50 if it holds together. As soon as I can figure out to put pictures on this, I'll let you know how it goes- Thanks- Vic
