What's the story with a TX? I was hoping to get an XS but I am starting to look at other options as the XS market in my area seems tapped out.....Anybody know how different it is than an XS? I was doing a little "wikipedia" search on it and it actually looks like the TX is part of the XS line up in 73????..... I never believe wiki at first blush though. Anyone know what the story is?

I like the look of motor on the TX750 and would be wanting to brat the back end. Anybody have any pics of some cool TX's? Anyone have any advice why I should or shouldn't go with this bike?

Thanks again

as far as i know 73 and 74 were tx. i have a 74. i just say that i have a 74 xs650. really only the stuck up dicks will correct you on it.

The early TX bikes handled terribly apparently... The later model frames were stiffened up quite a bit. Not much difference for about 70% of it. The engines look identical, but the internals are different, and not many of the hot rod parts will work. Forks are smaller too...

Stay 77 or newer. (The fork size went up mid-year)
Here's a thought! Watch out for a honda CB450! They sold alot of them. They are cheaper and make great power although parts are sketchy.

The tx 750 twins were known for grenading brand new motors, thats why yamaha pulled the plug on them after only 2 years.

The tx 750 was a whole different bike. Still a twin, but not the same as a tx650.
