It's a bitsa motor,.. I got from Satanherself from the Horse swapmeet board about 4 years ago It's either a 54 or 56 I honestly can't remember anymore numbers side and an Ironhead topend with the timing side case from a 58-62 I think.. the trans is something I rebuilt about two years ago and was just collecting dust and metal shavings..

I'll be changing the conical rear wheel to a 65 no speedo spool laced to a 16 inch Harley rim...and I'll TRY a whitewall tire on it.. just to see if I really like it or not ,..Kinda like the black spray bomb paint thats on it now ..just to see if I like it ,...I think I do.

I've still got a lot of work to do, Kickstand, button up the drive side after the wheel is done ,rear fender mounts, cables, change the handlebar mounts and fix whatever breaks while I'm putting this back together ...I'll up date this when I make some changes,..I know it looks like all the retro styled bikes being buit today ..I guess you could say its just my point of view?..

Cool man. I can't wait to see it all finished up. Is this one of the motors that Gary did work on?

No, The engine that Gary had was another one,..a 58-9 engine I decieded to build after I got the Iron head. You see, I didn't have the money to spend on a high dollar magneto, to make the Iron head run,. So one day I was searching for some 500 Daytona parts and looked down at a box of 650 parts and saw a unit construction exhaust cam and timing cover and thought that mabe I could TRY and make it run like a unit construction motor by having the exhaust cam dictate when to send the fire to the plug.. I couldn't bring myself to totally destroy the IH just to satisfy my curiousity so I collected more parts and this engine was born.. .In the first incarnation of this motor it was built using all stock components from a 69 and built to those specs,....That was the first trip to the machinist to have the timing cover made,..

In this picture, after the second trip, the engine is just set in the frame for mock up..... It's got a 750 big bore, megacycle cams, routt pushrods, Map racing rods, reworked unit construction style crank, Morgo oil pump,...and quite a few other gizmos in there with fancy names. wich I was going to save for another thread ..

The pipes pictured won't be used ,...I think the reduction at the head is too much and I'll wind up with way too much back pressure..I just had to see what it would look like..

The rear wheel is a Akront rim laced to a Beezer rear hub and the front is a Akront rim laced to a spool type hub,..with a custom cut axle.. the frame is 3 different frames made into one,..

I've still got way too much to do to this one to even start listing,...and in all honesty a magneto would have been cheaper and the black bike might have been done by now......

Thanks ..ya'll
