My friend nate bought this totally stock '81 Yamaha Exciter. We went to pick it up and it was bone stock. huge ugly turn signals teeny tiny wheels nasty taillight cumbersome two up seat but he rode the shit out of it all summer. then he told me he wanted a cool looking bike and enlisted me to help.

we started with this.

Then we took off all the ugly lighting and seat and fender. chopped down the inner fender for a bit of intake protection chopped the tail section back alittle bit and installed my own tail loop robbed a seat off of a yamaha trial 250 and repurposed it as a more of a tracker seat/fender combo which looks great, chopped and flipped the bars replaced the big signals for tiny cateyes re purposed the braklight off of the trials bike took out the 6v guts and got it to work 12v and here we are at the first phase.

next on the list paint, eliminate the air box for a K&N new battery box, a clean up of everything under the seat. 21" on the front. new headlight, new bars possibly new gauges. a new plate bracket that i'm working on and whatever else Nate can think up

that's pretty cool, me and a friend accidentaly burned a 2fiddy exciter just like that when i was a kid. hard lesson about using ether in the airbox.

Thought about lowering the front at all? smaller rim, pull the forks through the trees? looking good overall though
