Awesome helmet! I was stuck between an airframe and an alliance, ended up with the alliance. Its a very comfortable lid with hardly any wind noise.

Nice helmet!
I bought one of ICONs first helmets they came out with back in like 02 or 03 or whenever. It was awesome! I recently bought a new Airframe in Black. These modern helmets are nothing like an old school 3/4 or full face. Its almost like wearing a ball cap, glasses and ear plugs. Light, cool (or warm). Pretty nice!

They are a novelty helmet., and would afford zero protection in any kind of crash. THey look killer.... and would be nice to have on of you had to crawl through your crawl space to keep from bumping your head, but they absolutely provide zero protection. Don't fool yourself, they are simply a novelty helmet, and are sold accordingly.

With myself, I figure If I am going to wear a helmet, im going to wear a comfy one. Not some chin strap choking 1/2 protecting 1/2 helmet.

i will say that there has been some involuntary testing on those biltwells here, and they fared great for what they are.

Biltwell now offers a DOT approved 3/4 open face gents. Slightly taller than the novelty ones but they look killer still. Just not as many colors YET, but they are working on it. Just you guys know! That ICON is tits for a full face though.

I just got a dot biltwell because being in the Army I am supposed to have a DOT approved helmet, anyway I just got one the Biltwell Hustler and fucking love it I compared it to my buddies novelty and it is just about the same a little tighter than the novelty but as far as being taller its hard to notice.

LOL right, iv been building cars and bikes for a good while now and just in the past 2 years I have finaly had a chance to own my own and build bikes for me she wasnt realy hot on the idea concidering when i was younger I did alot of dumb shit on bike's witch explanes the full face but she has been great over the years and dosnt alway's get the obsestion with things on wheels but she dosnt mind it if it makes me happy! but after looking at thousands of helmets online and in store's this one was the one for me!

You'll definitely be happy with the Icon lid. It's way more comfortable than my HJC, and has about 50% less wind noise with the screen up and down.

you couldn't pay me to wear that icon, but thats just my personal taste. while obviously not as good protection as a DOT lid the Troop helmets are the best looking full face helmets i have ever seen. check them out at Eternal Combustion (http://www.eternalcombustion.com) if you haven't already.

Those look like a modern upgrade to an oldschool BELL race helmet! pretty cool!
Ahh they are non DOT. Im my mind...... why wear it at all if the only protection it affords is sun block for my bald spot? At least when you don't have a helmet on, you KNOW that if you fall your fucked..... false sense 0of security could be worse then no security at all.

I like the new Aria RXQ. Its not geared so much for the stunter kids, and more for chops and bobs. One of the most advanced helmets on the market right now. No wind buffeting, the spoilers actually helphold your head up at speed, and one of the quietest helmets made.

That trooper is SWEET!! Wanna get one myself. And just a note to all of you going on about DOT and novelty... If you are in a bad enough spill to where your noggin is gonna get hit it really won't matter which kind you have? I mean your neck is gonna take most of the impact its not like the DOT helmet will magically absorb all of the impact. Just my opinion.

There are times when nothing is gonna save you, but I'm sure there's also times when you wear a DOT and live
or wear a novelty and die. Haven't tested that theory yet, thank God. I can say that using decent gear i've walked
away from minor accidents unhurt, when i'd have been fu'dup without it.

And yeah, if somebody made a DOT Trooper or one of these I'd buy it!

heres a pic as requested it was a mess of a bike when i first got it LOL it was out side agenst a tree for about 12 years and was coverd in mold a fungus LOL it took 2 bottles of spray9 and a pressure washer to find a bike under it then I started to chop it! the only new parts on it are the tires, chain, grips, and bar ends the rest was scrap metal laying around and parts that where on the bike that I chopped.

Will MX goggles fit into the opening of the trooper helmet?

+1 on greenlights question. wondering the same thing before i pull the trigger on a troop. looks narrow for MX gogs.
