just joined here and thought id post a picture of my project.its a 79 xs400 special with under 2000 miles that i picked up for $500.i had a frame made up by local frame guru dave huntress(tigman). ive been piecing the rest of the bike together making what i can and buying what i have to. this website has already been a huge help!!

i am also in the process of making a bobber out of my 79 i picked up for $150 how did you reinforce the top tube? because i know there is three on a stock frame. that peanut tank seems to fit a lot better than if it didnt have those other two tubes.how much stretch do you have? where did you get your axle plates from? check it out if theres anything you need. these guys are a huge help. xs400.com

the frame isnt stock. i had a local guy (www.tanksbytigman.com) build one for me.i think the stretch was 4".
psw customs has hardtail kits.
tc bros might have one too

yeah i looked at those, but there isnt much to this frame in the way of angle. i only need 20 bends of roughly the same size. and my plates are coming from travis off the 650 and 400 forums. heres my thread.
