this is her first bike. shes been toolin around on this for about a year, never went too far as she has no endorsement. ive been laid off and bored so here we go. i was going to fab a whole new hardtail, but then i saw a pic of one from DKD92. he used flat bar for struts, i used sch 80 1/2" pipe. cut 3/4" chunks off and welded them sideways for the boltholes. then i cut off the tail. ive got an old fender off my old trident chopper im ging to use. still have to cut it down. going to make some bars, i was thinking z bars or something close anyways. going to make a seat custom fit for her ass. going to get a box, fill it with cement and have her sit in it. then when it hardens build a seat pan around that. still a long way to go. heres a before and after.....

well today i got rid of a bunch of wires. made an ignition switch and headlight bracket. i was going to use this bitchin little tailight, but my bike is only 6volt and i cant seem to find a bulb for that one so i just will use a standard IH light upside down. those handlebars suck but its the only set of 7/8 i have besides the mx bars and they're too wide. funny how the wife wasnt too keen on me using cement to make a pattern of her ass..... so im just going to find a cheap solo to run. i rode it a little bit today, but those bars make me feel like im riding a tricycle. that damn thing is pretty small as it is....

fucking rad ! leave the tank,...its perfect!

+1 on leaving the tank alone. If anything do what JPWilliams did with his Vulcan redo. http://www.chopcult.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5082&highlight=Vulcan&page=3 I hate small tanks. They are functional to keep a bike running but that's it. Yes they look good too, but I was always told form follows function. I'm putting a stock CB750C gas tank on my CB750 choppper project. Big? Yes. Decent shape? I think so, so fuck everyone else. And it came in good condition for $25 shipped.

I hear ya Rust, a lot of guys switch to a sports tank or the like on Vulcans. Im running a bigger coffin tank...looks good and holds plenty of go juice...

That bike looks like a blast to scoot around on. I've been thinking of building a bike for my wife out of an old 125 dirt bike sitting in my uncles barn...only downside would be that I would probably be on it more than her. Keep up the work on it man.

my wife stitched up the seat cover and i glued and screwed it on. it was her first time sewin up a seat. not bad. i painted some parts. still waiting on my headlight and air filter. she wants to paint the tank purple. how can I look cool on a purple fuckin bike? i'll tell you how, fuckin rainbows too!!

well i got the filter, still waitin for the light, but i wired everything up i could. looks like ill need a new brake light switch. other than paint and the headlight i think im done for a bit. im not painting it until it gets alittle warmer. i need to sort out the title issues....and eventually im going to have to change tires. those knobbies blow on the street.

I know some people are really sensitive about that, I have to watch it when shooting feature bikes. Doesn't everyone on the road see it when you ride? What's the deal? Sorry for the hijack...

It's more of a privacy thing for the most part. Custom cars/bikes are much easier to locate by the plates, so if you have some pricey stuff, or maybe someone has it out for you, it's very possible to get your information by running the plate numbers.
Go to the DMV and state you were involved in a hit and run, give them the plate number of the car/bike that took off, and they could possibly give you their info.
I'm sure there are other reasons, like people photo shopping the plates onto other peoples' plates for what ever reason.

I'm sure there are many reasons for people doing it. Just like it's a good idea not to use your real name on the internet. Very easy to track people this way, especially on forums.

thanks alot guys, my wife wasnt too keen on how low they were. i dont know if she will like 3 extra inches, but i never heard a woman complain about that. as far as makin them for someone else, im not really set up with a good enough welder to make them for other people. my welder is only a flux core no gas machine (a real pile). when i get my tig torch set up i am thinking of makin a bunch of dif bars.

hey guys new to the forum. First off this bike is really sick. I have been wanting to do a dirt bike bob for some time now. I know you said the dirtbike tires blow on the street but I would find the most aggressive enduro tire when you need to change the tires. The meaty tires look wicked. This makes me wanna chop up my 72 ts185 so bad. good job. second I heard someone else did a TS 185 bob, u guys wouldn't happen to know how I could pics of that would you?

You created a bad-ass ride out of a bike that I'd have walked past in stock form. That shows what some work and a good build idea can accomplish. I may have to re-examine some of the dirt bikes that I passed on!
