So heres where im at, i haver an old springer that i am pretty hellbent on using, from the bottom of the axle to the bottom neck bearing is 21.5". Im running a 21 avon front, with a 16 shinko rear that is about 25.5" overall diameter. Can i run stock rake with say a 3inch stretch and 3 inch drop hardtail? or will i need something different? im just trying to keep the frame rails and the ground parallel, and i know that a stock trump front end is 22 inches, so this one seems close enough to run without raking, etc and using some drop?
thanks
chris

So check it out Bro. Mock it up see how it looks to you. If you don't like it you will need a rake in the neck. Check out my frame in my build thread titled first build. Check out how my frame is raked and it can be done and numbers saved on the frame. Someone else did mine and fucked off the numbers but it is possable.

thanks guys, and yea i do need to do a real mock up and see for myself, but i guess im just wondering if i can save having to rake the frame by calculating the drop into the equation....

Well if you do have to do a rake. Like I said check out my thread and if you need help I'll try to walk you through it the best I can on here.

just using really basic math to get you close, if your fork is .5 under but the 21" front wheel adds 1" (half of the increase in wheel diameter) you are just over stock rise in the front so 3" drop wouldn't quite be level. The tires you run will make a difference but that will give you a really general Idea. I bet 2" drop with stock rake would be close enough that it looked level
