I have a Trident frame also.. quick seat-of-the-pants measurements show that a T100 motor will fit, but trying to squeeze a 650 or 750 Twin in it will be a problem.

A unit 650/750 twin will fit in a triple frame. The lower frame rails are wider, but that can be accounted for with spacers. The triple frame is a good trick for fitting a wide tire on a triumph. Just space the motor over to the left so the chain clears the tire. Would still work for a normal width tire, just space the engine betwween the rails.
ask Randy at Brit and American about it. They've done a few.

Did you ever figure out if this would fit? I've been sitting on my Trident frame with a title because I thought only a triple or the 500 would fit..

havent dropped the cases in yet, but it will work. even bolted up a bonnie hard tail i have from the seventies. a frind of mine has done it, said all you need is to drop the cases in put on a rear wheel, line up a chain and measure gap for spacers
