View Full Version : BSA M20 Gearbox noises

HI, just replaced kick starter Quadrant in the gear box and sounds like its scraping against the ratchet asembly , pull the clutch in and noise disapears, same as when riding seems to go away, pulled it out and ground the back down( off the quadrant) that helped ,but noise returned, any ideas, thanks ,Flarris

Flarris: Check and see if your inner clutch basket nut is coming loose, it sounds like you may have drawn the shaft too far over to the kicker side and it rubs except when you push it back by pulling the clutch in, also you may have to install some bearing shims on this shaft to properly index the shaft inside the case.
Just a thought..
