So a while back i had a 1976 triumph 750 bonneville that i rode almost everyday untill i broke the frame on the freeway. some of you guys from other forums probably saw the pictures. well after a long awaited rest on the motor stand i figured it was time to put it back together. i bought a hardtail section from tyler at lowbrow and i didnt care for it. It just wasn't my thing. so i decided to build a frame myself and start from scratch. so here it is with the frame in a very early mock up stage.

Wow, now that's a do it yourself! I guess once you've survived such a disaster you're not leaving your life in anyone else's hands. Those lines look killer! Are you running a Jap rear hub/ sprocket on that Triumph?

any plans for the points? I have the same motor and am trying to find a magneto to work. I figure i might as well try and ditch the battery too.

What exactly does a steering damper do? I've seen them on a couple bikes and can't figure it out...call me stoopid.

crownmotorz
09-14-2009, 9:17 PM
the damper takes the head shake or the "speed wobble" for you skateboard guys out when riding at high speeds. the rain grooves in the freeway dont affect a bike with a damper on it.

i ordered it out of the drag specialties book. its just a generic damper and it comes in a kit. i got the kit for a sportster but i didn't use any of the mounting hard wear. i had some tabs laying around that i used and it just happen to come out pretty clean

i dont know, man. sometimes i like to change things up in the middle of the build.
as amatter of fact, i found an alternate tank that looks kinda cool.

Its crazy how builds change direction. I went through 3 different sets before i settled on the ones im running. Thats why when it came time for the paint i sent the tank to Chicago Chris and gave him artistic freedom. He painted it how he saw fit.
