Hi guys and girls! I'm new to the bike building world, I bought an old handa shadow to chop. I'm not experienced in this this is my first project bike. It is a 1984 Honda shadow vt750. I want to weld on a hard tail frame kit but I also want it to be chain driven. My bike right now is shaft driven. What 750cc chain driven motors will fit in a handa shadow vt750, if any at all?

If it runs and has a title just build it as is or sell it and get a bike with the drivetrain you want instead of trying to bash shit together from random sources.

If you wanted chain rear drive you should have bought a motorcycle which had it in the first place. Shaft drive Honda chops can look good while chain is much more expensive to maintain (sprockets and chains don't replace themselves).

Study thoroughly and you'll have happier outcomes.

Agreed.
If you want a good "gateway drug" find a fucked up xs650 and cut it up. You'll honestly end up spending less time and energy based upon the quantity of aftermarket resources available.

What's wrong with a shaftie? I whipped up a ridged frame that left the shaft worked great.
