Just picked this 02 vulcan 1500 for 600 bucks. Anyone have any experience with them, any hard learned lessons you can pass on about it.
And most importantly, too big for a chop?
Just weighing my options and looking for ideas, i did a vulcan search and it didnt turn up much.

Shaft drive is really challenging to chop. That said the answer here on the 33 is pretty much always chop. Friggin great bike and at a killer price! Good pull man. My dad has put 50+ on his Vulcan mean streak and never touched anything but the basic maintenance items: oils, tires, bulbs, batteries etc. those bikes are strong runners.

The answer is always chop..... There not super ideal for chopping not that I've ever messed with one but most people tend to chop older bikes, everything I chop is 89 and earlier, before all the safety switches and fuel injection. But at 600 bucks you can't go wrong you'll always get your money back as long as it's running, so I say go for it and learn some cool new shit along the way

CHOP!
What direction are you wanting to go with?
Chobbler, Vato, Frisco Fag? I tease.
It's a fat machine and one of the lastest fad out of Japan is "beach racer". Kinda like a non-stretched hill climber. Could be neat...
If you want to skinny it up, youre gonna have to cut the fuck outa that clunky frame. Doable, but a lot of work.

Or flip it and find a more suitable bike to chop up.
