Hi, im getting ready for my first (out of 2) inspection of this build.
Here in Sweden they dont like the long brake rods, because they flex when brake is applied.
Specially if they are bent, because they have a tendancy they wanna straighten out.

I need to find another ideas/solutions for this, any ideas are great. Im running jumpstreet mids.

Post whatever you can think may work or what you've done. Anything =)

Thanks, Tobias.

Hi Tobias ,good looking bike man!

You could make a brake cable for it.

I made one from a park brake cable from a Volkswagen rabbit truck for my kawa gt.
But another brand of brake cable can work also.
When using a cable you have to make two mounting point on the frame for supporting both sides of the cable.

this cable looks good too, the eye on one side to suit the brake arm and the fork to suit the mid control.

just need to ask about the length.

maybe a clutch cable could be made to work

Actually any cable could work ,like the others suggested.
I will take a picture from how i did it tomorrow.
The cable i used was a old one ,so i did cut the cable to the length i needed for the project and putted the end pieces back on the outside cable.
Used a screw type barrel on the pedal side and connected the other side to the original brake rod.
But you could leave the inner cable also longer and connect it directly to the drumbrake lever.

Im thinking the cable would actually have to be thicker than an normal brake cable which used for front brakes. Since you got more power braking with your foot?
Yeah upload some pics on it =)

Thanks

The cable i used is 3.30mm thick ,it's teflon coated into a nylon lined outher cable (i used what i had ,actually the whole bike is build with scrap metal and such!)

i later put some electric isolation hose over the actual cable (thats the ribbed hose you see in the pics)
but let's we say this is what i used,

Hope the pictures are clear enough!?

I probably have another used cable from the volkswagen rabbit truck ,so if you want it's no problem to send it to Sweden!

Ah you are using both cable and rod. I have emailed several shops with my concern. Probably someone of these can hook me up with a custom one maybe =)

Yes i did use both ,because one side of the cable had the threaded part on ,but if doing it again i leave the inner cable longer and connect it direect to the drumbrake lever.
