i wish there were more people chopping the modern shadows. i have a 2005 sabre 1100 that i ride every day from the day the snow melts to the day the snow falls and even then some. the chopper cuclture here is non existent unless you call occ knock offs choppers. anyway most people i talk tou have no idea why i whant apes or wraped exhaust or a bedliner pain job on a 2005 shadow . i have been triing to figure out a way to make a solo seat for it but have not decided what to do yet. i have also taken off 100 lbs of chrome

I have a 1999 shadow 600 vlx that I cut the frame and removed the fenders. I ordered a solo seat from bluecollarbobbers.com and the quality is amazing. heres a few pics of my bike

ya the vlx is sweet looking when done right. on the sabre the airbox is under the seat so i will have to make a steel plate to cover it up then mount a solo seat to that.

the ss750's get chopped all the time - the sabre's not so much. I know there are several sabre specific forums, you might find inspiration on them

another vlx

i built this one slowly over the course of a few years. sold it to my brother, and it is now back in my possession to sell for him. pain in the ass to chop, but i learned most of my "firsts" on it.

i tried the sabre forums and unless you are looking for bolt on chrome or the bigest mustang seat you are out of luck. i usually get answers like " why" " whats exhaust wrap" and "maybe you dont belong here"

Im almost done with a modern chop of a VT750DC and havin a hell of a time with the wiring, Everything seems fine but no spark to the rear cylinder, It will start and run on the front but nothin on the rear could I be missing a safety switch or something?

is it a shafty? i'm guessing so, which might make it a little harder to play with, but you can always throw some struts on it. the seat can be made easily. don't worry about springs. just sit that bitch on the frame. pull the headlight nacelle off and throw a new front wheel on there. i'm not a big fan of the sabre wheels. my buddy has a 2000 that he's looking to dump. i keep telling him to let me have it for a couple weeks and he'll never want to get rid of it. he's looking to get a street glide, so he doesn't really get it either. good luck, and post some pics.

No shafty its chain drive I built a whole hardtail frame and the rest is all thrown together with spare parts coming along very well my only problem is some wiring issues. I posted a pic in a new thread "Look At This"

my buddy's got a sabre that he never rides. maybe only 20 miles all last year, and less than that this year. he just got a boat and spends most of his time there. he want's a street glide real bad. he's not a big fan of the sabre, but the price was right when he bought it. it's severely neglected. it's covered with little shiny things, highway bars, big saddle bags, windshield...you get the idea. i wanna take it totally apart, put a 19 or 21 wheel on the front, strut it. it'd be cool. i'm just waiting on him to give up on it and give it to me.

How long are those struts, and is that the stock rear fender?

I think I did the struts at 9.5 inches and it is the stock rear fender shaved back a bit. Thanks for the kind words, I should never have sold it cause I'm gonna end up doing one for my wife this winter...

Here is my 2002 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100 My bike has a lot of history for me, I bought it from my preacher, wrecked it doing 70, chopped it up a bit. I enjoy it. I have done a boat load of small details and have plans for a bunch more. The overall look will stay the same. Im trying to build a bike I like, not a bobber, not a chopper, not a harley. I want a bike that is unique.

Hii guys
I just finish rebuild an old shadow 83 vt500 , cause i bought a frame and also engine without anything . but until finish, i have no idea, what style it is. Is it modern or vintage . Is it bobber, street or cruiser ? .i just put everything from kitchenware or junkyard stuff on it . I believe you better to decide. hahahaha
