Hi. Just want some info on replacing the stock Shadow vlx 600 water res, pictured below.

I am led to believe that any sort of container will do, metal, plastic whatever.

I am looking for something slightly industrial but also simple and minimal.

Do I need to mimic this stock one exactly?

I am a little confused on where this meets up to the rest of the bike?

Can anyone explain who has had a go at this?

Thanks in advance.

It attaches to your radiator......

Haha, it does attach to your radiator. Another tip is to have a breather for the container you're going to use. Good luck

No, you don't have to mimic the stock one exactly.

Google "what does radiator overflow tank do"...read up. Get creative. Good luck.

Yep your right........ All it does is hold antifreeze basically...... Hell a beer can would work..........

It must allow coolant to return via suction. It's not just a dump tank.

But if it's full when it's hot it will get sucked back in when it cools down........ I didn't mean use a beer can literally

Why not a beer can?
<a href="http://s657.photobucket.com/user/dustydave/media/Before09137_zps41a4db3f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i657.photobucket.com/albums/uu299/dustydave/Before09137_zps41a4db3f.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Before09137_zps41a4db3f.jpg"/></a> After conciderable intense study we realised that a Jap bike must have a Jap Beer can, so I sucked it up and sucked that can of Sapporo down. It worked well.

Just mount it on the right down tube And make sure the line runs too the bottom of whatever tank you use.

I used an antique brandy bottle
