I can dig it, big time. What's engine plans for it? And will it be wheelie capable when finished.

This is a rebuild rechop.

Here is an old pic.

http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy65/superexification/BBO%202015/7403264354_40b7e89b09_o_zpsupwi888r_edit_142348650 9220_zps13repqlc.jpg

It began life as a goldwing.
Is more aftermarket vw now.
The old set up was a 150-160 hp 2110 stroker motor.
New rebuild is a 2387 fuel injection and distributer less somewhere around 200hp range.

Yes it is a bit twitchy to ride but not rear engine wheelie prone. But when on the gas it goes straight regardless what you try to do.

Well it is a bit more difficult to put a vw are any other car engine in the front of a bike size frame.
Pick what you want to build carefully.

Bored, stroked vw based engine. Not a single piece on this actually ever came from vw.

Cb performance super case cut for 94 cylinders and 86 stroke.

Sweet , I will be squirting my sporty build . I like the car alternator (gm?) I did the same with my VW powered bike. But it looks like you have covered over the oil fill . So how do you get oil in the motor ?

DeathBySnuSnu
08-02-2016, 7:26 PM
Distributor hole is the oil fill.

Oil cooler mount is the coil mount.

Fuel pump mount is the vent mount.

Should have a 7500 rpm 2387cc engine happening soon.

A 600 crotch rocket was not a problem with the old engine.
But a riding buddy had (recently sold) a screaming eagle v rod with pipes and a tune that I could not get around. All the other friends would be long gone with their normal harleys and such and v rod would look back and old man on the trike would still be right there with him.
Wish I could have gotten one more chance with the new rebuild.

With spinning this to 7500 rpm are you doing anything with the #2main bearing , I haven't had any problem with my type 1 motor but I have heard that extend high rpm is hard on the #2 main , or is that solved with the counterbalanced crankshaft and the motor balance .

DeathBySnuSnu
09-24-2016, 5:22 PM
A lot of that is is made better with the counterweighted crank and the balancing.
Good metal backed bearings like clevite 77 are supposed to be better.
Look closely and you will see the split type metal backed bearings there on the center and the one at cam gear.

Very impressive ride! WOW.

Are you sure you want that hot exhaust right underneath the cylinder head?

DeathBySnuSnu
07-14-2019, 2:14 PM
Worried about Under the heads?......No
In front of the heads......Yes

So then a bit concerned with the right hand exhaust in front of that head. I have it as low and out of the way of the air to head path as possible.

So far a little over 5k miles and it seems to be OK
This 2387 does seem to run hotter than the 2110 did.
