Has anyone mounted clip on handlebars to their chop/bob? Due to restrictions in tank modification my '04 volusia 800 is now becoming more of a bobber style rather than a skinny chop. Im intrigued by the idea of clip ons for my ride, as its not terribly common in the aussie custom scene and it would (theoretically) give the rider a mean stance.

Anyone with clips ons on their beast shoould post pics here.

I've seen plenty of bobbers with clip ons and they look kewl, but I cant imagine bobber seating and then having to curl over to hold on to the bars. That just gives me phantom paints just thinking bout it. But it looks mean.

On that bike, your clip ons would have to be pretty damn far forward. Try taping a broomstick above your headlight to your forks and turning all the way left to right. Measure how much space you have to come back and that would be your riding position.

This was a CB250. I wanted it lower so I made the rake 35 degrees and let the tubes up through the triple tree by about 2 inches. Stock bars wouldn't fit and I didn't want to use them anyways. Looked like a perfect place for clips ons.

Try Googling 'swan neck clip ons' and 'high rise clip ons' ... there are a number of options.

Clip ons look neat on cafe bikes but for me are extremely uncomfortable

It really depends on the relationships between the seat height and bars. The advantage of the clips on being you've got adjustability.

Some of them end up right were standard bars would be, but cleaning up the triple tree. Others are adjustable up and down.

Depending on the rest of the bike, and ride style/purpose, it could work. Would suit a skinny bike best.
