I have a 1983 GS850G and I am looking to convert it into a hardtail bobber.

My friend has a cb750 hardtail bobber and it is a sweet ride.

I am looking for kits, help, and how to's on how to convert this bike to a hardtail bobber.

Let me know ASAP thanks.

Not sure if there are any kits like bolt on's that I have come across, but alot might depend on your budget. Cheap route might be buying
universal pre bent frame tubing, and converting all your mount over to that. Best looking option would have a custom frame built, you will get better lines
but both will be a lot fabrication. Not familiar with the GS frame but a lot of the imports i have messed with come with the tripple back bone or square back bones.

Creates challenges regarding gas tanks.

You could drop the seat rails and do a single top tube.

Hardtail? You could just strut it?

Them motors go really well

This should really go in the Jap bikes forum...

The GS850 is a shaft drive, so you're going to have to custom make the hardtail. There have been a couple guys to build custom ones. If you poke around the Jap forum, you'll find them.

Just please, don't do struts. All the discomfort of the hardtail, none of the good looks; worst of both worlds. When I see guys running struts, I feel like they just want to sound like a badass, saying they ride a hardtail, but are too lazy to do the actual work.
