I have a lead on a 1991 Fxr with only 62,ooo kilometers, any tips for what to look for apart from the usual buying checks ? Thanks guys...b.

Inner primary. Final drive chain eats 'em up. Also damage (cracks) behind the clutch shell is common.
Bad motor mounts and swingarm bushings. Rear wheel bearings Too.
People tend to ride/launch these bike a li'l hard.

In addition to what Sky said, make sure it shifts smooth and easy, mine fragged a gear in the tranny. Base gaskets often leak on evo's. Also, the plug from the voltage regulator to the stator has a tendency to loosen itself on these, they sell a small bracket to hold it snug, but you can easily make one. I would be sure to do this"mod", having experienced it myself. You won't know it's loose until your battery is dead, and that never seems to happen at home. Remember that the bike is 25 years old, so things like brake lines, fork seals, and the rear drive belt will all likely need replacing if they haven't been recently.
