I will prolly get some crap for this but does anyone know a good thread or write up on just swapping the bearings and races to fit a sporty front on a xs650? I have searched but havnt found much on just swapping the bearings and races..

There was one on here awhile back for a springer, I don't see why there would be any difference (though I have no experience with a springer). He said grab an aftermarket set of timken bearings for an XS (get rid of the ball bearings and races) and 1" trailer wheel bearings. You use the XS races and the 1" bearings and you are rollin'. He did mention that there was a small amount of the bottom bearing exposed, which obviously isn't ideal. If you go that route, I guess just make sure it stays greased and ride on.

Yeah, I'm sure if you or someone you knew had some talent with a lathe, you could work up some sort of cover pretty easy.
