1982 honda nighthawk 450. Hooked up a new battery and she fired right up. only needs tires, minor exhaust work, new clutch cable, and a fork seal. Brought her home for $58.00 and that included the gas to get there and back.

youll find that if you drop the rear end on these things they end up with pretty nice rake to em. and if your going for the chopper look just find some longer fork tubes that are the same size and walla big long and nasty bike altho i think these ones had the same big nasty square 4 inch wide back bone

except for the fact that the dude I got it from is giving me the run around for the title. Think I'll have to tell the licensing office he's dead so I can get a new one.

that was called the Superdream over here in UK.
We had a 400cc version (insurance laws) ...eveywhere else got the 450

Was known as the wet dream by the people who thought it was to slow

I wish I could find deals like that. Minus the title hassle of course.

They are great at being reliable, the lower part of the frame is the motor, and the back bone is a tunneled square of metal that the gas tank fits just right! it is too bad, they did not have a kick start!!! for they need no battery!!! the only bad thing about running batteryless, is at low idle the head light flickers, but, a great reliabnle bike!!! I have tried my hardest to blow the 450 in that bike up!! no luck there!!! but it' s little cousin the 400, is easily blown up by blow by type of blowing it up for me!! if you keep it real light weight, it will be your little rocket ship, just wanting to blast off!!!! You could just keep it just like that and up the jets and open the pipes, and go to the drag strip, if you have those in your area, and run the strip against just a little bit bigger bikes than that 450, and only tell them it is plain ol' stock, and the baffles are worn out!! you will blow them away at how you blast of f the start line!!!!

Every time I run into one of those engine-as-frame Honda with the com star rims, I think of the much much go bike:
