Recently I purchased a 2007 600 Honda Shadow and thought I got a good deal. 1600 miles and looked flawless. The guy I got it off of said I couldn't ride it on the road because of no insurance.. so I rode in the parking lot, and it seemed to ride great. So I bought it and got it home and thought it might have some bent handle bars, instead it had a twisted neck... so here it goes can I use a 1992 frame with all of my stuff off my 2007 shadow? I hope so, because I bought the frame already

I just picked up a 2005 for my son. Was a great deal.....but I DID make sure it shifted through all of the gears, stopped quick...........and had a straight frame.
sorry bud!

Does anyone know the difference between the early and late vlx frames?

since you already bought the frame im guessing you will be able to tell us soon.

Chalk it up to a lesson learned, the worst thing you can do in a bike deal is get excited.

Finally got the motor out without scratching anything, it was super easy it took like 6 hours to tear down the entire bike.59481

Oh well should have the frame next week. I want to build a bobber that i can ride with my future wife, but will not sacrifice the classic cut down look. I have white walls ordered and a side mount tail light but cannot decide on handle bars, or pipes. the factory exhaust looked ok, until i pulled off the heat shield... what a joke... Any suggestions?

it happens to everybody eventually, learn from it and move on.

Have fun with your build!
