Or maybe a springer. Been thinking about building one but I'm not too sure if it'd be the best material. Anyone done it?

Mods can move. I wouldn't do it, but then again someone had to lick that poisonous toad for the first time to find out it made you trip balls and it was actually fun.

REbar Is a good material for a sissy. A little heavy. And as supplied a little soft. but you can quench harden them a bit. Not the right alloy choice for a front end though.
I have even seen chrome rebar sissys before

if you did alot of metallurgy research you might be able to make it work. IMO all that work for 1 front end isnt worth it, especially if you spend a bunch of time researching just to find out its not a good idea
