this is my buddys bike im building for him it is a 82 kz 440 ldt we started by cleaning up the forks on the lathe

next was to rake the front end and make it sit where it needed to be

after that it was on to the back end we streched it 5 inches and lowerd it a lot here is the rear axed

this is the drop out after the swingarm was cut off

i didnt feel there was enough meat there to weld the new tubes to so i added some

pretty clean welds is why i asked im still honing on my mig welder skills till i do frame work .. ive got a millermatic 180 kinda touchy

nice mine is an older and cheaper virsion its a hobart (made by miller) 175 they quit making it and came out with the 180 or 185

you using .024 wire or .030

i use 035 on everything but body work then i go to 028 or 030

Tony, Nice work on that bike so far. The stance gives it some attitude. Reminds me of my Honda chop with the mags and all. Nice to see a good MIG job. Some other guys could take a lesson from your work- Practice before you weld your bike, not practice on your bike. Good on you for a job well done.

Oh. The way you did the lower rails is awesome too. Allowed a good slugging and it'll look smoother when complete. Nice.

That does have a nice stance & proportions. The right seat, fender, tank combo that will be killer.

Ha, your house is like mine, pleeeenty of hours working on bikes, yardwork, not so much.... :-)

actually all that area you see in the pic was all trees 2 weeks ago im clearing it to buid a garage in the near future but yes you are right i spend to much time working on bike and not enough working on the house (according to my wife)

Yep. Here's 2 in the driveway and one from EDR '08. Now get back to work on that KZ! I can't wait to see what else you do to it.
