Once again asking dumb questions. but I got my bike all ready to fire, and she cranks and turns over, but when I go to pull the clutch I hear this sort if air spurt sound but I can't figure out what it is. Then when I shift it or hit the throttle, total power loss. Idle may he way off. But wanted to ask you guys for any thoughts

I did also go with pod filters and I modified the pipes

You may be getting to much air. try taping about 3/4s if the filter and see if it help. I have a cb750 was drag pipes and rejetted the carbs with pod filters. had too tape them to get it to run right. might be worth trying.

I'll try that. I think it may be getting a little too much gas too since I changed the petcock. And it has drag pipes. So it probably needs to be re-jetted

Fuel quantity is controlled by the float. As long as you haven't fucked with float height you're fine with fuel quantity. I agree, it sounds like too much air. Run experiments.

I just tried tapeing off the pods a bit and it started popping..
And the reason I'm thinking the petcock might be a culprit is the stock one is a vacuum petcock, and the new one is more of an open flow

Nvm the popping may have been from a wrong wire on the regulator because its not doing that anymore.

Run the petcock 1/4 open to see if limiting the fuel is necessary. It won't be perfect, but it should let you know pretty quick.

Important question, what bike is this?

You went from stock intake(airbox) to pod filters and stock exhaust(baffled mufflers) to drag pipes. Str8t pipes? If this is the case u have to jet UP!

I tried limiting the gas but it didn't seem to help much. And its a 1984 cb650.

Go on carbjetkits.com they have a jet calculator. Click Honda jet kits. Click your model. Jet calculator will have a link on that page

I have not. its a starting point tho. Who knos might be dead on. I just put in the info for my wife's bike which I just rejetted and it calculated that correctly. I'd order the recomended sizes and the sizes below and above it so u won't have to wait for jets if the calculator is a little off.
