Has anyone changed engine cover bolts to generic cap head allen bolts. If so did you go stainless or zinc plated?

I've read stainless and aluminium don't get on, that said I'm sure some anti seize will cure that?

I believe Honda use zinc plated steel and charge the earth for them too.

Experiences please.

Bike is a VLX600 (Not that matters)

Thanks

I've replaced all of my cylinder head cover bolts with stainless. A little anti-sieze is always a good idea whatever bolts you use. I've never had any problems.

EDIT- Just for the hell of it I went out and checked my bolts (haven't had reason to loosen them in quite awhile), I tried 6, and they all came loose without difficulty.

Excellent service! Thanks mate. I'll probably go stainless. They'll look nicer against the polished covers :)
