Well hello strangers! Its been awhile. Here's my newest build and my entry into the Old Bike Barn/Greasy Dozen Garage Builder Collective 2015. It started out as a hideous 920 Virago with the biggest hunk of fiberglass they called a fairing bolted to the front. I unloaded about a hundred pounds of crap off the poor girl. With the monoshock its amazing how skinny it is. Heres a good bit of pics. Enjoy and more to come.

Im using an XS750 gas tank. It has a wide enough tunnel to work.

After cutting out the original tunnel I bent and traced to the new one.

Heres the start of the subframe. A bit different than others.

I will be running an undertail exhaust that I had laying around. This is why the subframe is spaced the way it is.

Cafe racers aren't really my thing, but still, really nice work.

And I always get this strange pleasure from seeing a pile of all the stock stuff stripped off a bike. It's a sickness. And I guess that's one of the reasons why I'm a member of this site.

Thanks Guys! Yeah, Evilblacksabre the cafe is kinda the bastard child of chopcult ha! But the Virago seems to be made for it. The pile-o-parts was quite impressive on this one. Its amazing how much crap one can bolt on a bike at the accessory counter.

Well with the cafe set up your toes are on the pegs for the most part. but the pic makes it seem closer than it is. Cant be any worse than a sporty with forward controls haha!

Fork brace for the very flexy Virago forks. I modeled (copied) mine after the HHB style brace. Hey if its a good design its a good design :)

Heres some updates. Powder coat is about finished and Ive started detailing the engine. I fabbed up this engine support to make the soda blasting and paint a little easier. I was able to fit the battery and solenoid underneath the frame. Wiring should be fairly simple.

Thanks deathmetaldan! I cant wait either. Its getting very close to assembly time! Heres a pic of the front wheel. I had it powdercoated Laser Bronze and gave my friend a template to cut these kickass wheel insert out on the water jet. They are my poor mans PM/Roland Sands wheels :) I will see if they are well received and then put them into a limited production.

Cool! the inserts for the 920 rear wheel are different left to right. The 750 (from pics) appears to be the same size left to right. I was going to just buy a cheapo off ebay and test fit. With any luck the larger of the 2 inserts will fit both sides of the 750 wheel!!

That cafe is sweet to say the least. I'm really kind of curious about the bike that is behind the cafe racer, in the pic I attached. Tell us the story on this one, looks interesting.

Well that right there is my creation from 2006-7. Its a RC51 powered, Redneck Engineering framed death machine. It was actually my first build.....I went a bit over board. But is was 2006! Everything was overboard! Then came the market collapse :)

My new phone background. Love it man. Super inspirational build thread. That bike started out weak with all that plastic. This is what that bike was meant to look like. Great job.

damn! nicely done! :cheersmate: I like that you did some more original sub-frame work rather than sticking to the cookie cutter XV cafe racer tails that have been getting cranked out. I almost bought an XV750 but got a better deal on my GS750. Maybe next project...

Hello mate, i enjoy it, that's nice, you did an awesome job, hope you finished it and enjoy your bike, have a good one good luck to you for your other projects! Since I'm add (even taking adderall xr (https://rxcoupons.org/coupons/adderall-xr-amphetaminedextroamphetamine-coupons-discounts-cost/)) I can't finish anything...
