finally got a little work done on my project. it's a 72' XS2. the pics go from when i first pulled it out of the barn last june up until my current progress. the new front end is 50-51 indian warrior fork with 21" spool wheel. fork needed some modifying to fit. used DNA standard tapered 1" bearings in some tapered xs650 races. only concern so far is chain clearance. as you can see its gonna be close. might have to clearance that tube a little. i'll start on the lowers once i can scrounge some tubing. i also need to track down some new fork seals for the indian fork and probably rechrome the legs as well.

theres no stretch in the rear if anyone is wondering. and don't worry im not usin the leopard seat, nor that sissy bar and probably not that rear fender either.

You may want to put a lip on the back on the seat. As it sits now, you may be resting against your rear fender.

That chain will be really close.. curious to see what you come up with as I just ran into the same problem on mine..(hardtail 101 help thread) and mine wasnt even that close.
I made some new spacers out of tubing welded to washers that turned out great...

This just keeps getting better. Is that a 19 inch front or a 21?

On the spocket side, does the upper part of the frame (hard tail) hit the chain? How far can you curve it in? And how far is the bend where the seat is?

Odd question, but would you want to part with those grips?

bluejean, the chain just barely knicks the frame if i get bad chain whip but i ran it like this all summer and it barely ever touched. im gonna regear the bike and go with a 520 chain rather than 530 so the chain should move even further away from the tube. ill take some measurements for you tomorrow.

hooligan80, if you're referring to the green grips they are hippy killer 7/8" metal flake grips.

theyre $40 new
im gonna hold onto mine. the right one has some road rash from laying the bike down last summer anyhow
