Hey guys,

I wanted to let you all in the Mid-Atlantic area know of a charity ride and rally me and my bud(J5K on here) are putting on. http://www.chopcult.com/event.php?event_id=808

It is September 20th in Richmond, VA. The event is raising money for Connor's Heroes, a charity that works to help families who have children with cancer. Here is their website for you to get familiar with what they do.

We'll meet up around 9am that Saturday, kickstands up at 10. The ride is going to take us out in to the country roads of Powhatan for about an hour and half to 2 hour ride, depending on the final route. $10 gets you in the ride as well as the after party/ride in rally with a raffle ticket included. If you can't make the ride but just want to come hang it is $5 for the party which starts at noon and goes to around 5. Raffle tickets will be $5 a piece and you can buy as many as you want. We'll be raffling off some great prizes including a $75 gift certificate from LowBrow, a $50 gift certificate to Classic Tattoo in Richmond, some Harley swag, and our grand prize of a custom painted frisco sporty tank painted by Fulton Paintworks http://www.chopcult.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7521. We're still actively looking for sponsors so if any one reading this wants to donate a prize please PM me or J5K.

The event page I posted at the start of this post should have the details but feel free to ask any questions. We're looking for volunteers to help out on the day of too so let me know if any of you all are interested.

Devil's Backbone Brewery will have some of their beers on tap, and Capital Ale House will be providing food. We'll have some games like cornhole and the like too for kids to play with if you are local and want to bring the fam.

The Sweater Band, a legit Weezer tribute band, will be playing that day too.

We hope it's going to be a fun time and that there'll be some cool bikes to look at, and most importantly that we raise some money for a good cause.

Hope to see as many of you there as possible!

Been getting a lot of excitement boiling on instagram and facebook but wanted to keep the momentum going here. I'd really like it if I could get some show quality bikes to have in a corral separate from the main bike parking area. It doesn't even have to be full on show quality, just stuff that is cool and people will want to look at. The bike lot will not be in the drinking area as ABC laws require we rope off where the drinks can be consumed, but the "show" bikes can be in the roped off area.

Anyone within a few hundred miles of Richmond, VA want to get involved and bring their sweet bike to show off? I'll waive the entry fee and even give you a raffle ticket...

Posted up in the event thread about it but definitely looking forward to this and I'm trying to bring some non CC'ers with me.

That tank is so sweet I wouldn't even want to run it on something.

Hey y'all, one week from today is Heroes Run! I'm excited for this event!

I've added a few more gift cards to the mix, so here's the complete run down as it stands:

Grand prize of a custom frisco sportster tank painted but our fellow 33'er Fred Pinckard of Fulton Paintworks(See a couple posts up for this beauty, I want to keep it!!!)
2 sets of bars from Steffan of Zombie Performance
$100 gift card from Biltwell
$75 gift card from Lowbrow
Lots of swag from The Speed Merchant
Free oil change from local HD mechanic John Lea of Pure Evil Performance(If you don't know who he is and ride a Harley, you should get to know him, he rocks)
$50 gift cards from Starlite Dining and Lounge, The Daily, The Savory Grain, Tarrants Cafe, Fat Dragon/Foo Dog/Osaka/Wild Ginger/Blue Goat(You choose from that one, they're all owned by the same people)
$25 gift cards from River City Diner Midlothian and Portrait House

We've got a Weezer cover band, brews from Devils Backbone Brewery and Bold Rock, food from Capital Ale House, things for kids to do, weather is supposed to be great, man I'm pumped up!!

All the proceeds go to a local charity here in VA, Connor's Heroes, they work with local families who have children with cancer. This is a local event for local people benefitting local kids, can't beat that!

The route attached, it's about an hour ride out in to Powhatan. We'll get a police escort to the county line then we're on our own. Should be fun and I hope we can do it every year!

And finally, I'll pull at your heart strings a little as you watch this little vid of me and my bud talking about the event, and then of course riding around in Richmond cuz that's what we all love to do!

See you there!

Well you can't really tell what the route looks like in that pic...

Here it is explained:

Head west on Route 60
Take a right to Jude's Ferry Road. Follow it all the way to 711
Head west on 711 to 522.
North on 522 to Route 6
Head east on Route 6 to 288.
Back south to Route 60 and then we'll be back at Capital Ale House for the party and raffles!

Thinking we'll leave the spot around 10:30 so be there before then!

For those who made it, thanks! I think it was a pretty good first effort and all in all we raised over $6500 from entire drive! Saw some cool bikes, met some cool people, went on a fun ride. What more could I ask for? Already working on ideas for next year so hope to see everyone back, and for those that didn't make it we hope to see you there!5183851839518405184151842
