Have any of y'all been? Is it worth planning a big ride around and staying all week? What is a typical day at speed week like? I'm just trying to wrap my head around this event! Any input would be awesome! Thanks!

My Dad goes every year, I have yet to go. From what I hear, its hot but fun and is a must do at least once in your life. However Its not somthing you'll really want to ride your bike on, the salt gets everywhere on everything and can rust and damage your bike. My Dad alwasys takes his baja bug to cruse the flats and 3 years ago had to replace the pan due to holes rusting through.

Does he go every day during the week or are some days better than others for watching?

Every day for the whole week. He stays at the KOA and says there's always a party at night.

It's just one of those things that you just hang out and watch. I go to El Mirage all the time, I suggest bringing binoculars some shade and plenty of cold beverages. They call out rounds for the racers and if there ready to run(i.e. The bikes ready) they'll make another pass at trying for their class record.

I started going about 10 years ago and it's a good time for sure. I kinda get bored after a day or so, but I only live about a hour and a half away in SLC, so I'll go out for the first weekend it starts. Camping at the bend in the road and going into town to the State Line Casino are good times. Lots of amazing old iron to see. Hope that helps.
