I have a 73 ih sporty. Hardtail running a two wire system. I have a high beam low beam head light. My tail light is also two wire. It's the model a tail light we'll my issue is it works fine with the bike not running but when it's running it does not light up at all. So if any ones can give me some feed back that would be awesome thanks

Had a 72 XLCH back in 72, but don't remember the wiring all that much, but I would find a VOM and start seeing where your losing power.
Possibly the tail light gets fed through the ignition switch and if it was bad maybe that's your problem.

Do the tail lights work with the key in the "On" position?

I don't remember if the ignition switch kills power to everything but the starter circuit when in the start position/ but that might be where the problem lies??

Maybe first find the wires to the light circuit then while the bike is running try and find when you lose power.

I've never been much for troubleshooting wiring over the internet, good luck.
