So I'm trying to finish up my 79 xs and need to figure out what Im going to do about a brake stay, I was thinking 3/8ths rod and heim joints to connect to a tab on the frame then the rear caliper, its a disc btw. I was worried about it twisting/bending and wanted to know what some of you guys have used?

Also I've bee looking for an extended clutch cable to run with my 12" apes, 65-66" long. Found this one from Mikes but Im worried about it being a quality part and binding up or being tight as shit. https://www.mikesxs.net/product/51-9204.html
Any other suggestions? Thanks

Brake stay should be a big deal. Don't over engineer it. I usually use a flat bar, welded tab, grade 8 bolts. Lock everything down solid. Only time it moves is when you're adjusting the rear wheel.
