I really like these seats but can't bring myself to dish out the $275 bucks for it.
Anyone got any suggestions of other seats that are very similar? Pics would be awesome. I would love to have a white one but black will work. I tried the search thing but since the change I can't find shit.

Le Pera Rigid Baron? Drag Specialties makes one too. They're both usually for sale used on Egay.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, then lets go ahead and scratch my last suggestions. Ebay has a ton of seats in that style and they aren't $275. I'd check out the tech threads and make your own on a fiberglass pan unless you need it asap.

thanks Ramzilla. just remember, you get what you pay for. A lot of people that buy seats somewhere else, break down and buy one of mine eventually. Remember these are made by me, not a giant factory overseas, and every penny supports the local economy.

these seats kick ass on a chop. the only complaint i have is they look too thin and small on a stock framed sporty with a stock mounted peanut tank. if you went the extra mile and frisco mounted a sporty tank it would be ok, just not my taste. i went with a lepera cherokee for 86-03 sportsters, and took the stupid tassels off the side. looks ok but probably not what your loking for

oh come on pony up the money dick holster. I've made a king-queen and I probably sunk $200 into it easy and I got lucky and found a cheap upholsterer. I sure as hell wouldn't say $275 is out of line, haifley's tack another $55 on theirs. I do see them cobras up on classifieds but they only knock $25 bucks off.

The Old Gold is by far the best looking seat and the thin look is what I like about it. I know they are worth the money and I have rode on one for about 100 miles. I was not at all looking for something better. But I don't have the means to pony up that kind of money for a want right now. I'm just looking for other options that are close to get me through until I have my ironhead done.

yeah I'm broke too, maybe you could rig something up with one of these? http://stores.ebay.com/Bent-Bike-Motorcycle/Other-/_i.html?_nkw=seat&submit=Search&_fsub=1&_sid=14699106

fifty bucks plus 20 ship in white, eighty for black--maybe you could notch out the pan with a dremel or something, and screw in a mount in the back. something kinda hillbilly. It did have measurements in the description if that helps. other than that I've got nothing I do have a stock 98 seat, I threw away a solo I had (dunno why).

If I had to do it over again on my sportster I still would have went with the old gold seat. Was a super nice quality and I felt better sending a rad dude in the states my hard earned money than buying some ching chong bullshit. Keep an eye on the classifieds, the dude sold the one off my old bike just a little while ago I think at $180

Sea king I actually have one of those seats that I;ve been saving. It is for my ironhead but I have sat it on my evo and it is close. I may try and make it work and buy another one or run it until I can afford an Old Gold. The one I have was made in Italy.

who's used the snake charmer on rigid frames? I liked mine when I had shocks, but that looks a little painful. Im looking for a seat now, but I think i want a king and queen.

Hey man, how do you like that cherokee? I've been thinking about one. Have you got any pictures?

I'd love to run one of the rigid seats on my shovel, but with a ribbed fender I don't think it'll sit flat. Anyone have any ideas?

i love it. it is mildly stiff, but the support is great. the quality is awesome. remember, this is an 86-03 seat, not the better looking 04+ seat. however, i like it. there are threads still in the sides of it where i cut off the "conches" but it doesnt bother me. it is also pretty narrow...... as you can see, it is exposing the frame rails just in front of the shock mounts. where a stock style seat would curl around them and come tight to the battery top. i scored this thing on ebay for 115$ shipped, so i think i scored :)
