I'm swapping my rear mag for a spoke model and need to get new bolts for the sporket and brake roter. Question is what s the general thoughts as to what type, Grade 8, chromed or stainless.

Thanks MRB

Grade 8, Chrome from a quality vendor, like Colony, are just fine. Not sure about stainless unless the package said "sprocket bolts" or "rotor bolts". And avoid chinese crap.

3/8-16 for the rotor, 1" long

7/16-14 for the sprocket side, 2" total length, 1.5" thread length

Sky, Clockwork444,

Thanks for the replys and info. I've seen a lot of Colony stuff on Ebay, I'm leaning toward grade 8.

Be sure to use Wompy's sprocket / rotor lock tabs.

I got three of the Wompytabs which are amply strong for the task and likely to outlive my wheels. They look good too.

As with any similar locktab, pre-bend the outer tab where you will bring it against the bolt just a cunt hair before installing. I like visegrips for the final pinch, and I don't go apeshit trying to wrap locktabs totally flush with a nut or bolt flat because I always expect to one day remove any hardware I install.
