I run a new Shinko double stripe whitewall every spring. They are cheap, handle good, and last. No need for Firestones or Avons IMO

I've ran Shinko 777 for 2 years and over 10,000 miles. Only thing I've noticed was some cupping resently. May partially be due to a bad neck bearing. I think they are worth it

I'm also running a pair of Shinko 777's on my sporty, and they've been great so far. After 2k miles they still look band new, and you can't beat the price.

got 7500 miles on a shinko 777, just be careful on tar in the road or metal grate bridges. gets a little squirrley until there broken in good.

Im running a Shinko 240 double white - I dig the hell out of them for the price. Never had a problem with it.

We had great luck with the Shinko 003 tires for track days on our sport bikes.

I just browsed their website and found these.Anyone try them yet?

Im running a 240 blackwall and have had no issues so far. They are cheap as hell, look cool, and work well.

have any of you guys using the shinko used the firestone as well ?

Im just curious
I have zero ties to firestone or shinko but Ive used both and the firestone handles and feels a lot better to me.

Especially in the rain (not that the firestone is anything near what a performance tire is, but compared to the shinko it felt better in every aspect to me)

I think they are worth the little extra money.

Tires would not really be the place I would look to skimp and save money on a motorcycle.

I haven't used the Firestone but I have used the Avon vintage style tire (dunno what they are called) numerous times and the Shinko double whitewall numerous times. The only difference I can tell is in the price. Handling is the same rain or shine. It's not like you're gonna be dragging knee with either but I do drag peg on a stock height bike with the Shinko's. I get more life out of the Shinko's too. So longer lasting tire for less money means it's Shinko every time for me.

Are the 240s taller like the other vintage tires?

they're pretty short. about a inch shorter than an avon or firestone.

Height wise how do they compare to a Dunlop 130-90-16? Shorter, taller?

7metal west has a chart that shows shinkos at 25.3 and a dunlop d401 at 25.4, if thats the tire you have they are pretty damn close.

Got both Shinko on Shovel and Firestones on Ironhead...shinko are great no issues. Cant rally tell the difference Both have been great, but the Shinkos are half the price.
Also ran Shinkos on my Evo, lasted great...ran the hell out of them
Good tire
