I'll be at his house quite a bit as my Slim built XS650 starts taking shape. I'll snap pics of the Seppuku trike and some more cool shit he's doing. He literally lives about 5 minutes down the road from me in his secret mad laboratory. Known the fucker for going on 5 years, and he is a metric monster. He's got some crazy shit in the works that I can;t talk about, but when it's unveiled, lock the women and children somewhere safe. All I can say is he is nuts and I'm lucky to call him a friend.

I'll be grabbing pics soon as he's building my XS650. I'm stoked he moved out here and pretty much became my neighbor. He does insane quality work at recession prices, and I mean recession prices. I told him about his work being on here, and he's super stoked everybody is diggin his stuff.. Next time he comes over I'll show him the thread. I should have shown him when he was here earlier ordering parts for his van.

As for rider position on Nanook, you lay forward, foot on pegs, and shift with your hand. Basically streamlined with the bike. Pure 2 stroke drag bike. That ride is for the CRIMINALLY INSANE!

I have a chance to buy a Kawasaki Triple (KH-400) 2-stroke for like $400 bucks. I think it looks fucking cool as hell and I don't see them often, but to be honest, I'm kind of put off by it being a 2-stroke bike..

Not a chopper, but one of the coolest 2 smoke on the web...Blacksmith cycles

I just registered for Chop Cult. I have to say this place is cool!! I was lurking around in the Jap forum and came accross this pic of my bike. I guess this is as good a time as any for an intro!! BTW....thanks for the compliments!!!

I own and operate Blacksmith Cycles in Sussex, NJ (up in the NW corner of the state.....miles and worlds away from The Jersey Shore). 90% of my business is service and repair of Harley's. I usually do 1 or so builds a year on the Harley side of things and i had a bike featured in The Horse (issue # 95 or 96). It was a very simple, very clean, bare bones, black rigid Shovel if any of you guys saw it.

I have to say though that the two stroke stuff is my own persoanl escape from reality. I can't get past the performance, simplicity, and just plain fun that a 2 stroke offers. It brings me back to riding dirt bikes when I was a kid!!

The RD400 in the picture was my last project and i had somewhere around 3 to 400 hours into it. It ran like stink, handled like it was on rails, and open stingers for exhaust NO ONE would ride behind me!! LOL It's pretty funny when all my friends with straight pipes complain about my bike being too loud!! Unfortunately I sold it last winter to pay some bills and purchase some shop equipment. I do have TONS of pics of it though and will post some up Monday when I get back to the shop.

Right now i am working on another RD400...well the frame at least....with a Honda CBR front end & wheels, and a seriously ported liquid cooled Banshee ATV motor in it. Think 60 or so HP in a 225lb bike.

This winter's project should even blow that away. I'm starting that one with 2 sets of banshee cases, cut apart, and welded back together to make a triple. Add a set of custom cylinders, a stroker crank and that project will be about 120 or 130 HP. All stuffed into a late 70's TZ350 frame which was Yamaha's race only version of the RD line.

If any of you guys are considering going the 2 stroke route GO FOR IT!!! They really are simple and light which makes perfect chop material. They can still be had pretty cheap too if you keep your eyes open. I prefer the RD350's and RD400's for no other reason than you can still get parts for them easily. There are a bunch of really dedicated companies out there that either source or reproduce whatever you might need for an RD. Most of it is reasonably priced too.If you guys would like I can post up some links. The Kawi and Suzuki 2 strokes are cool too, but tend to be a little tougher and more expensive to get parts for. The Kawis can be a little expensive to buy as well depending on which one.

Speaking of 2 stroke suppliers I also started a second business last winter.....Vintage Smoke. I am getting into manufacturing some parts for the Yamaha RD line. I currently offer an electronic ignition conversion for the RD using components from Dyna similar to the DYNA-S. It's reasonably priced, simple, and easy to install. If any of you guys have done points on a 2 stroke you would appreciate it. This Fall/Winter I will be working on rear sets and custom chromemoly swing arms.

I really didn't intend for my intro to sound like a sales pitch, but i just wanted to tell you guys who I was and what I do. Since I run my own bike shop for a living it was tough to do it without selling myself a little!!

If I can help any of you guys out with anything let me know!! I have been a regular poster on The Horse forum for years so some of you guys might know me from over there.

sorry for the shitty cell phone pic. this is just a pile of parts thrown on there but this is the direction im going to go in. its an aftermarket cb750 rigid frame and a 350 Bultaco motor. im going to use the bultaco front end and brakes. the honda rims, and the aluminum taco fenders. in the pic the front fender in on the back just to see how the struts look. the rear wraps the tire perfectly but im going to use the front struts. the suzuki tank on there is completly claped out. im going to run a 2gal sporty till i can find another suzuki tank. i think the stock taco exhaust is perfect for this chop.

ill post more pics as i comes together.

Jason

Its a Jammer spun steel wheel. It a 19 that was intended to be a front wheel. I machined a hub to make it work on the rear. Gotta have it done by June for the SmokeOut. It's being built for The Horse mag's Amateur Chop Off.

Starting on the chambers shortly. Got a few chambers off of some 80cc dirtbikes that I will be cutting/sectioning to hopefully look and work decent. We'll see what happens.

I look forward to seeing your progress on here and in "The Horse" from what I seen you dont have much competition.

I took my orange bike to the S&S 50th anny and entered it into the Horse show they had and ended up getting second place. Dave Polgreen got first with his knuckle in a vl frame and won an S&S engine. Englishman had me send in a write up but it never made it to the mag.

Thanks man, appreciate it. No shame in coming in second to a Polgreen bike.

I got the tank out to paint right now, gotta finish up the rear fender, make a battery box, finish the exhaust and figure out what I'm doing for controls. Then I have a TON of shit to polish. Only got about another 2.5 months to sort it all out, so I'm starting to stress a bit. Once its done, I'll start the build thread and probably have about 150 pics to post at that point.
