I just bought a 1973 honda cb 450. It is missing the front forks and tripel trees. Does anyone know of any other honda front ends that will swap in ?????

The smaller CB/CL etc forks and trees may be an easy swap. Should be a piece of cake to find a mid 70's CB450 front end. Last time I looked at my local bike wrecker he had a few...

Yeah i wasnt sure. I have a 66' CB 160 and wondered if the weight diffrence would be an isue with these litlle forks. I dont have the 450 yet. Im going this saturday to pick it up. It comes with an Old harly iron head front end, but the neck hasnt been changed yet and i was looking to get it on the road asap. Then chop it next winter. Thanks for the tips. Ill do more measuring after I get it.

A 450 front end will probably be the cheapest way to go. A lot of parts for em are pretty cheap.

yo

here's a spreadsheet that you can sort with all the jap bike fork diameters and tube lengths. I use this to track down similar fitment gear for XS650 stuff as getting some bits here in Australia can be tricky.

Also has axle sizes. Taken from chopper underground and put into a spreadsheet so you can sort data etc.

I swapped in a CB360 front end on my 71' CB450 with no issues. The stem on the triple tree was slightly shorter but still fit. Hondatwins.net has a ton of information on CB450 twins with some really knowledgeable members you may want to ask over there as well.
