08-12-2009, 6:56 AM
that is killer!
i can't wait to see it when you are done.do you have to pull it off the table and store it at night?i have an 8'X8'x12' ryder box that was my first shop(and still a workshop, boring bars valve grinding equipment etc.)i have half of a 20'x40' pole barn now with a cement floor and am glad to have it but still have to roll out 1 lawnmower and two bikes to work on anything.
i think it is great that you have such a nice table and skills and are working outside.keep us posted, great work, good job can't wait to see where you finish.

Looks great. I have been seeing more and more cool xs650 choppers around at bike shows and such, they are nice bikes, reliable and pretty cheap to get your hands on for a project.

I dig the boardtracker look!

08-12-2009, 9:36 AM

08-12-2009, 9:40 AM
awesome project. gonna look sick

That's definitely an interesting (in a good way) build. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it. I've never really seen an XS done up in that style. Nice to see them getting more serious attention and not just from just the backyard bob jobs.

Thanks for all the compliments, I appreciate that..

"i can't wait to see it when you are done.do you have to pull it off the table and store it at night?"

I usually have the frame jig inside and do the welding in there. This time was a little different though. I wanted to do the frame mock up with the wheels in place. It took about 3 or 4 days to get the frame dialed in. I ended up putting some tarps over it at night and leaving it out until it was ready to come inside. My shipping container is my new "shop" after giving up the garage space I was using. Had to cut some overhead for these tuff economic times we're in.

Got some pics of the gas tanks and mounts coming along.

08-13-2009, 6:12 AM
yeh it's a pretty way out mod for an xs - I like the change from the usual over-stretched, sporty tank XS bobber look.

keep em coming.

08-13-2009, 9:30 AM
This is gonna be a bad xs......I love the frame work!

08-13-2009, 11:00 AM
sliiiiiick! i have a 73 tx650 as a project bike that i haven't done much with other than tinker yet. keep the pics coming!

08-13-2009, 1:44 PM
I'm lovin that leafer! Real good so far!

08-13-2009, 1:50 PM
I love the look..

08-13-2009, 5:18 PM
Thanks all.

It's a little over the top on the tracker trend, but what the hell. It's fun as hell to roll around on!

This is where it was at a week or two ago. Just got the motor in it a couple days ago for a test fit.

Great. Are the tubes coming through the tank going the be used to secure the tanks? Some acorn nuts perhaps?

08-17-2009, 9:42 AM
Thanks all.

It's a little over the top on the tracker trend

But unlike a lot of others your bike looks really good, is proprtionate, and looks well built.

08-17-2009, 12:25 PM
fucking sweeeeeeet! okay, so what size are those wheels yer running?!? Bad ass indeed!

08-17-2009, 7:14 PM
Love the profile, you nailed it.

BTW do you live in a jungle? I've never seen that many palm trees and ferns before. I keep looking flying monkeys in your pics. LOL.

08-19-2009, 9:59 PM
Is that Girder front end your own design? if so it's bad ass. If not, it's still bad ass. That bike is gonna be killer.

08-26-2009, 9:11 AM
Cant really argue with the no money project!!! The bike looks killer! Cant wait to see it in person rollin! P.S. the pics look great ,However i have a feeling this ride looks like one where photos dont do it justice!

09-27-2009, 12:01 AM

09-27-2009, 1:56 AM
hell yea

09-27-2009, 12:26 PM
That is some nice work! I can't stop looking at it... If this is you without money, I'd like to see what you do with some money.

09-28-2009, 10:40 PM
Thanks for the encourgagement brosefs.

No real updates on it. Just trying to bang out the details, which is not my specialty.

It should be in some what presentable shape for some ride-ins in the next couple months.

I'm trying not to spoil the finished bike for all you custom bike fiends,... so no more pics for a while!
